There will be several tryouts this week. He could possibly be cut by weeks end.

25 yarder wasn't tipped. No excuses for missing that. If, as a professional kicker, you can't make fg's under 30 yds right in the middle of the field, you don't deserve your job. He wasn't the main reason yesterday but it's been spiraling downhill for him for the last several weeks.

I was a kicker. Even if it was tipped that ball was going left. Started left then hooked. He can only hope it hit someone's finger along the way.

Hartley is just not good enough. Period. End of story. The kicker for the most prolific offense in the NFL needs to be better than this. Time to make a change.

It's not like there aren't any kickers out there.

Time for Hartley to go. Plain and simple.

All I know is when they showed S.P. on TV he said just a few short words to the special teams coach after the second block. I'm going to speculate it was somewhere along the lines of find another kicker. The dude looks crazy before the Fg tries and he doesn't show much enthusiasm when he makes a kick. I'm sure it's hard to just sit on the bench and then kick a measly Xpt so often, but when we need a FG we really need it. Truth is we can't trust the guy.

My guess is they carry two fg kickers next week and drop the 3rd QB from the roster. They did it in 2011 for a few weeks. For whatever reason, Payton just can't completely drop Hartley. But, I've also never seen Payton a angry as he was yesterday.

I don't see us dropping RG4.

Went back and watched it, second one was tipped... not sure what you guys are smoking.

Just no

But to the guys that are saying "bye Hartley," how many more times are y'all going to say that before it's actually true?

You guys have been saying that after every miss for the last 3 years. Still here

Nice pick up, I missed that. Guarantee you're right! He definitely wasn't saying "let's practice kicking straight tomorrow".

We never do sh!t any more with our special teams. Other teams do but CSP seems to prefer predictable mediocrity when it come to ours. I've been calling for the ST coaches head now for years. I should have just called Loomis.

2nd was not blocked. The 1st one was a 36 yard field goal. He should not have kicked it that low. It's not like the defender was in his grill.

Eat a dick. I can't wait to see the locker room photos. I hope Hartley is crying in the corner while getting Junior puts his dick in his ear. Suck it up Pussy. He is such a head case.

Even IF the second one had been blocked, how in the FK do you shank a fng kick THAT bad in the NFL!?!!? It was wide left the whole fng way. PATHETIC!! They have some good college kickers coming out this year, I suggest we make it a point to grab one. If we can get the kid from FSU that would be great.

Yeah, I didn't think it was blocked either. That was really bad and I'm fresh out of fricks to give when it comes to being a Hartley backer on this board.

I think maybe it's time for a change. Shayne Graham come on down.

Those were blocks guys.

A FG of less than 30 yds should never be blocked at the LOS. Hartley should be able to kick it over the net from that distance.

Hartley is simply one of the worst 3 kickers in the NFL this year. He needs to go.

20-29 yards he is 83%.. 31st in NFL

30-39 yards he is 62%.. Worst in NFL

40-49 yards he is 69%.. 26th in NFL

and he is 1-1 from 50 yards or more.

He is having the worst season in the NFL of any kicker. Statwise Janikowski is worse off % wise but has not missed from 20-29 and is 67% from 30-39.

Hartley's saving grace for his stats which are atrocious is that he is one of the few kickers to have 2 kicks from under 20 yards.

TIME TO GO

The first step shouldn't be just to bring in other kickers. The first step should be to cut Hartley, and begin the week with NO kickers. Bring in a ton of them, let them tryout all week and sign one on Saturday.

BTW - why would THIS thread have an anchor? It's not like talking about your kicker, who consistently misses CRUCIAL FG's isn't a hot topic or anything.
