It was a pretty good pilot. Would be interesting to fill in the gaps between this and the other Marvel movies.
Also that Thor trailer looked bad-arse.
Agree solid effort for week one.
And Thor looked aweeeessssome

This is Alpha's with a bigger budget and less talent in the writer's room.

the irish guy and English girl "techies" are the worst on the show.

It wasn't terrible. Ill watch next week. Whedon reminds me of Adam Sandler with his loyalty to actors that he's worked with before.

I enjoyed the pilot. Lots of action with some humor mixed in

They may lose me next week. See another Heroes in the works with this one.

Is it even that? I missed the first 20 minutes, but is the premise normal people tracking down mutants? Will this be a "super hero" show without a regular cast of super heroes? What I saw of the pilot made me think more of Torchwood than Heroes.

Plot is going to be more like Torchwood I think, just think this is going to follow the same path to cancellation like Heroes.

I couldn't understand half the shite the Irish tech was saying. I'll keep watching to see where it goes, but that was a lot of cheese.

i'll stick with it just in case they try to throw some of this shite into the movies. seems pretty mediocre and formulaic to be honest though.

Agreed. I like the premise and the show has promise but (at least to me) when a show that's supposed to be action/drama has so many uncommonly attractive characters it comes across as trying to compensate for lack of writing.
Skye? She's smoking hot but I'm just not buying her as a computer hacker, especially one that lives out of her van. Plus they seem to already be trying to force the chemistry between she and the James Bond wannabe.
The Euro Twins? Great idea but the accents are so thick I catch only a 3rd of what they are saying (and this is from someone that grew up on Monty Python).
Cute doctor chick from the exploded clinic? Yeah, I'm really buying that someone in her early-to-mid 20's that's finished medical school and has enough brains to create that attachment thing wasn't already on S.H.I.E.L.D's radar.
They need to focus a little more on using more realistic characters and not soap opera archetypes.

The James bond wannabe guy is terrible. Really bad casting there

Agreed. I would like to see someone a little more grizzled and cynical in that role.

I want Alphas back dammit.
Wanna see my fruit?
Seriously though, did anyone think the background music was way too high? I couldn't make out half of what they characters were saying. I'm talking Coulson and the other Americans -- not just the scot and the irish.

It wasn't very good. Watchable I guess, but pretty below average.
Way too much dialogue and trying WAY too hard to be cute. Also it just seemed really muddled and just like sewn together last second in a lot of places
Kinda seemed like an hour long advertisement for the next Avengers movie, which is probably the point
That said it had enough redeeming qualities (Sky being fine as hell mostly) that I will probably check out next week

Thought it sucked, I'll give it another episode or 2.

It was very average considering all the hype that surrounded it. I'll DVR it and continue watching though.

Premiered to 12 million viewers and did a 4.6 in the 18-49 demo. ABC has a hit
