Some people get all mad when they get made fun of.

That's about 90% of the people that hate Family Guy.

Yea, I mean Family Guy doesn't always hit a home run but it's a funny show and easy to watch. Not everything has to be deep

American Dad is fantastic.

Family Guy is still good, not near what it was though.

To be fair, he did have an episode linking republicanism with the Nazis and it was quite hammered home in a manner that wasn't attempting humor in my opinion. I don't think that would ever happen in reverse on that show but I haven't seen every episode.

I did find the show funny when I watched it but I think I got worn out but the randomness being used as a crutch when the main storyline provided little humor itself.

Yep. A whole lotta mad up in this thread.

LOVE Family Guy. Most everyone in here looks like they can't take a joke.

Sounds like you're mad because he's been given a platform to mock religion, politics, family, and whatever the frick he pleases.

Political hack isn't the term I would use. That said, if he's going to put his ridiculously one sided views in the show, he should at least make it funnier.

That said, I've always liked Family Guy. Been watching it for about a decade now.

That goes back to not liking the joke because it's making fun of you. I think his political humor is really funny.

I agree. Family Guy had a pretty large dip in quality for maybe two seasons, but then it picked up again and has been very solid ever since.

Sometimes it is. There was definitely a stint a few years ago when he was injecting too much political bullshite into FG. I don't mind political shite, just mix it up sometimes. It seemed like, for a while, it was one stupid political jab after another and it got old. And I don't give a shite if someone mocks my political beliefs (or religious or anything else), as long as it's funny...and for a while it seemed like it was more "in your face politics" and less "let's make these jokes funny." That was my my only problem with FG really. But it's rebounded from that time really well, and it's a really solid show again now.

I was really into Family Guy originally. I just gradually lost my taste for it. I think it was because they moved away from actually story line's and relied too much on "flash backs" and harping on social issues.

You guys think hating on Family Guy makes you seem cultured but you just come off as bitter.

If you haven't seen the South Park episode where they make fun of this show, check it out. It pretty much nails what the show is all about.

He isn't the creator of the show, just one of five producers....

The Nazis with the McCain/Palin buttons was just one of many small pieces of evidence of Seth's hackiness.

It's light-hearted political humor. He's taken shots at Bill Clinton, too. I don't see the problem.

Like I said in the OP, I think the guy is talented. I have laughed at Family Guy harder than I have most other comedy shows.

But what intrigues me is whether Seth has an intentional agenda against grown men marrying and raising a family, or if it's subconscious. I mean, Family Guy, American Dad, and Dads. That's quite a pattern.

I dunno. I think FG and AD are pretty good. Cleveland Show sucked but I don't think he wrote anything on that show. He just created it. I'll check out Dads.

He also has the reboot of Cosmos coming out soon and I'm pretty excited about that.
