While The Advocate doesn't seem super tech savvy, I think they did a good job summing up what many on this board cannot for some reason figure out.
They are televised. Just via ESPN 3...

Roster doesn't have to be submitted until tomorrow afternoon. He may get left off if Laird is healthy enough to play. But since I doubt he will be, Newman will be on the roster.

Not sure if you're defending ESPN or trying to confuse people. Either way, ssshhhhh.

I mean its 2013...if people can't understand the concept that TV networks can broadcast their content over different platforms (OTA, cable, satellite, internet, etc.) then I'm sorry.

Then be sorry. Most people see 'televised' and think it will be broadcast on a television, not streamed. Go figure.

Regardless of what the actual definition of "televised" is (posted by Mountain), the actual modern day interpretation of what it means is something like: able to be watched on television through your provider with a click of the remote. It doesn't mean, to many older and younger people alike: able to steam to your television through an external device using wireless Internet.

I will say this... If bars can stream a chalmette playoff game and a voodoo playoff game, they'll stream this...

That's what I love about the Rant- stupidity, sarcasm, and a few facts. I'm surprised nobody has asked if they can watch the game on their radio.

I can display the feed on my TV if I want by plugging the HDMI output of my tablet into my A/V receiver and selecting the correct option with the remote. However, I wouldn't call that "televised". Maybe "broadcast" but not televised.

I would call it "streamed"

I have a hard time believing there are enough people that cared about a Voodoo playoff game to ask for that to happen.

Espn3 brings you 24/7 live programming from your favorite ESPN networks on your computer, smart phone, tablet and Xbox 360. This is basically Internet TV.
In the U.S., the network is available to individuals who receive their high-speed Internet connection or cable TV subscription from an affiliated service provider.
Here is a list of Espn3 participating providers

Games streaming online is one reason I bought a laptop with an HDMI out. Just hook the laptop up to the bigscreen and I'm good to go. It also works well for PC games.

quote:whatever you say dude, but ESPN3.com =/= TV. if I can't watch it on my TV without using a laptop or XBOX, then I am considering it not on TV. I have been able to watch nearlly every single game this year thanks to Justin, but you can't tell me that all of those games were "televised". You aren't going to convince me, nor are you going to convince most other people, so just quit trying, cause I am not picking up what you are putting down

Y'all are arguing semantics. Is ESPN3 on tv or not? What does it matter. As long as the general public (YOU) can view it with your own eyeballs in a manner that is reasonable (which I think having Cox internet or ATT dsl, etc is reasonable).
