I also heard we hired Paul Dietzel but I can't get a link to the States Item to prove it.

I'd like to agree with you, but you're living in the past. This is a "what have you done for me recently" kind of league and fan mindset. The steady decline should be obvious- personnel, poor drafts, FA mistakes, subpar coaching from top to bottom, and FO miscalculations. No one is irreplaceable except maybe Drew with a restructured contract.
I know Ms. Maes wants him back.. And I'd like to see him have one more year too. It can't get much worse. If we make the right moves in the draft and FA on defense, he may be able to turn this thing around. Personnel and less injuries are the keys to improving. This is not a good time to change the DC imho.
Since we are in the season of analyzing the reasons for our decline this year, whether it be personnel, coaching or both, how important has Drew Brees been to CSP's head coaching career? Conversely, how important has CSP been to Drew's career?
I know this is hypothetical but who believes CSP would be gone by now if not for Drew?
Don't get me wrong, nobody is a bigger fan of Drew and Sean than I am when they're working together. But if we're looking forward, don't we need to consider all possibilities including life without one or the other? All options are on the table thanks to this year's performance. The obvious needs are OL, CB, LB and pass rusher. Restructuring Drew and JG are next for free agency cap room.
But realistically where would this team be if not for Sean and Drew together?
The window is closing and I'm starting to look 5 years down the road instead of just to next year.

The college comparison to this argument was the SEC this year: SEC West was stacked and beat up each other yet the SECW winner (survivor) had to play the SECE winner in the SEC championship game. The SECE sucked all season but the system still allowed a lesser opponent to have the opportunity to take it to the next level on any given Saturday or Sunday.

This year in the NFL still remains an anomaly. You don't change the system to accommodate one atypical season and one atypical division race.

Now beat the Dirty Birds and bring on the Seabitches. Who Dat
Bring Hoyer back!!! If JF plays, kiss that game goodbye.
Whoever destroyed our salary cap for Jamarius Byrd needs to go. Whoever got rid of Darren Sproles and Malcolm Jenkins needs to go. Whoever decided to not trade down to get more defensive picks needs to go. Whoever thought we were ok with the cornerbacks we have needs to go. In other words, there is a lot of blame to go around. Rob Ryan alone is definitely not the problem.

I own him in Fantasy Football. I say emphatically NO !
I just picked him up on waivers. He's my flex in place of Shane Vereen. Belichek is just so unpredictable week to week that its a crapshoot.
Then you have more faith in this system than I do
The next 4 weeks will of course tell the tale.. But a strong possibility exists that the SEC West will eliminate itself from a National Championship once the dust has settled. This will leave teams like Oregon, Notre Dame, Florida State and TCU in the Final Four. What a travesty this would be. The SEC West has the best teams in the country who could be sitting at home watching this play out. So much for our new system. The SEC stands to lose the most as long as this system is in place.
Want, want, want, want want and it isn't even close. So much so that I don't say "want" anymore.

Either late for Bucs or very early for Packers.

We already lost our "trap" game
This is the problem with our society. We need to live by the same standards that we demand of our "professional" athletes. The only difference is that they are under a microscope and we are under the radar. This is NOT just NFL an problem.
Truth or consequences. Accountability or above the law. The premise is the same while the indiscretion involves different circumstances. Hypocrisy abounds from the top down.
I'm sure Sean Payton at some point said, "I'm sorry. I got it wrong". But as we know , CSP had no recourse except to accept his punishment. So it's good to be king when you have no one to answer to except the ownners and sponsors. The ownners need to step up to the plate and deal with Roger's performance or lack thereof. They owe the fans and the sponsors nothing less.
I have the same situation on my FF team. I'm keeping Pierce. He'll eventually get his touches. Forsett is a journeyman RB and Pierce will be used a lot for goal line/ short yardage TD's like he was in pre season.
Should really help our SOS. This year's home schedule sucks except for one or two games.
