M/TV Board Challenge: Tell me why you like a TV show you like.

Doesn't have to be your favorite. Doesn't have to be currently running.
What I want to know is what makes you like a particular TV show. Not in relation to any other show. I don't want comparisons. I don't want rankings. I want to see people express their opinions on a show as freely as possible. And since I'm getting tired of hating things, I'd rather hear why you like something, than why you don't like something.
Also, please be detailed. Saying you like Psych because the references fall right in your wheelhouse and that you find it cleverly blends multiple genres is good. Saying you like Psych because it's funny is not good.
Make sense?
I'm interested to see how this turns out.

I like Supernatural because it has a fresh story, likable characters, a strung along story, with the ability to still make any episode a stand alone type.
It has a blend of comedy and action and suspense.

I like GoT because it is a great representation of a great book series. They gave faces and voices to characters and have held to the source material pretty well.
Oh, and tits and arse. Lots and lots of tits and arse.

I liked Futurama because it was intelligent humor, but wasn't "too" intelligent to the point of trying to fool its audience. Actually, it was more nerdy than intelligent. Also the setting of it being in the future opened up several plot opportunities, like presidents' heads or traveling to different planets, like the Star Trek episode.

Big Brother
Always been a fan of reality shows where strategy is involved. I like BB because of the live footage 24/7. Sure production can still persuade the game, but it pretty much all unfolds live, whereas Survivor is played out over 38 days and we get to see about 14 hours of it.
Another perk of the live feeds is the occasional nudes!

I like Survivor because it gives me a chance to see people resort to their tribal / pact/ survival instincts (at least in the older seasons). I love to watch people justify being arse holes to what are essentially complete strangers in order to win a sum of money. also, the challenges are fun, you get to see people freak out, and hot chicks in bikinis are awesome.

I dig South Park, because it's not The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
J/k
I like SP, because you can get away with a lot more shite in cartoons than you can otherwise. I love that they don't pull any punches, and are equal opportunity offenders. Politically, it seems Trey and Matt's views are very similar to mine, and I think more often than any other sitcom, they hit the nail on the head with the conclusion/lesson learned by the boys.
That, and Stan. Stan Marsh is great.

I like King of the Hill because of its not like any other animated shows in that for the most part anything that happens on there could happen in real life, very well written, it has a great cast of characters, a nice blend of sarcastic dry humor and slapstick, and memorable one-liners.

I love Terriers because of its shaggy dog vibe. It only got one season, but it works as an extended movie and in that season it created a compelling town full of interesting people. It even wrapped up the major narrative tensions. It threw some legit curveballs in the plotting, but most things that happened came out of genuine character beats. You felt like you knew these people, and you liked them. It was a more believable and grittier Psych to give it a comparison, but it was a PI show that didn't feel glib, even when it was being glib.

Person of Interest -- Just extremely interesting story line and good acting. Mr. Reese is one scary mofo. I'm also dying to find out what was Harold's involvement with Mr. Reese's trip to China -- remember the piece of paper than came floating down when the car blew up???
My parents got me into it. It definitely keeps you watching from week to weeks.

I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every episode of Breaking Bad. The story is believable and the writing pulled me in on the very first episode. The casting was excellent. The acting is superb and, for a television show, you really couldn't ask for better everything. I am not looking forward to the series ending, but at the same time I cant wait because I know I wont be disappointed.

I just started watching Hannibal the other day and watched 4 episodes (I'm pretty sure they are the only 4, don't even know when this show airs)
But I like it because it is incredibly weird. Ultra violent crimes like Criminal Minds. Also, I love Hannibal Lecter as a character.

Freaks and Geeks
Despite it's one season run, it's one of my favorite comedies ever. Everything from the casting (James Franco, Seth Rogen, Jason Segel, Martin Starr, Linda Cardellini, to name a few) down to the writing was absolutely spot on for a solid high school comedy/drama. Most people can identify with at least one character in the cast and the writing/comedy continues to hold up well despite being 13 years ( ) apart from it's initial run. It really does encapsulate what I think a young comedy should be and I'm still sad that it's run was cut short.
And Bill Haverchuck. Words cannot express his awesomeness (I know you didn't want that, but DWI ).
