Let's say we end up with the second pick in the draft and Ben McLemore is the number one overall pick. We are on the clock and both Otto Porter and Marcus Smart are available. Who would you take?

Do does that mean you would trade Gravy? I wonder if he would accept a reserve role, where he would be similar to J.Jack. Probably the best backup PG in the NBA, could also play the 2 some.

I dont see why you have to ship any guard out besides maybe Roberts or Mason

I would love to have GV, Smart, EG, and Rivers all on the same team especially if GV, Smart, and Rivers are crazy cheap

Keep Gravy as your starter too

So would I. I think SF is a bigger need than PG. Never a bad idea to go BPA, though

You should always go BPA. In a podcast several months back 247 looked at the last decade of players and something ridiculous like 80%-90% of players don't make it either to or past their 2nd contract with the team that drafted them. So unless it's a sure fire star like AD, you're most likely drafting a future trade asset, not the guy that will plug your roster hole directly.

The good thing for us is that we lack depth at 4 of 5 positions, and the position we are deep at (PF) doesn't have many high level prospects this year. So, best player available is almost certainly going to be at a position of need.

BPA is the way to go, so I would go with Smart.
A Vasquez, Smart, Rivers, Gordon guard rotation would be solid.

Not a fan of Smart as an NBA player.

I think he's this year's PG version of MKG. Great leadership, hustler, good potential as a defender, but not very skilled and is able to bully people in college because he's physically superior.

Smart. nothing against gravy, but we need an athletic point guard. Russel westbrook, a x1000 better athlete then gravy killed us last night.

I like Porter, but he doesn't have as much potential and this team is based on potential
