tl, n-dr

amazing nola article:

tooooo long, negs-don't read

LINK

In a business replete with aloof, sometimes cruel, men whose narcissism winds up embarrassing them and the university, Miles stands apart. He's a class act and that matters to him, which is why it's not just an act.

The anti-Miles sentiment is rooted in three syllables (the last two rhyme with, "hatin'?"), and blooms in an imaginary world where LSU was always a national powerhouse. Yet Miles wins practically every Saturday; indeed, his winning percentage is the best ever at LSU.

Maybe people are starting to realize that Miles is an elite coach.

Most know this. Some are just living in another world and will never enjoy football under Les.

The problem with Miles is he loses to SEC teams far too often!

With the exception of last year he has lost between 2 and 5 games each year to SEC opponents since 2007! And last year we lost the one game that mattered the most.

Don't get me wrong, He is a good coach.

But we will never consistently win the SEC by losing that many games every year to conference opponents, much less a BCSCG. There's no use kidding ourselves.

We were the best team in the SEC, the best team in the nation. Miles can't control the ESPN spin/Bama hype machine.

I was there and saw Bama fans crying. That game should have mattered the most.

(but I do think we should've tried offensively in the BCS title game too)

and if Bama plays our east schedule this year and we play theirs, they lose 2 games and fall to the Peach Bowl (assuming the SEC would protect us like they protected UGA had we lost the SECCG). You can't blame Miles he plays a tougher schedule than Saban year in and out.

We haven't had a tougher conference schedule every year since 2007. Any one year could be described as an anomaly or bad luck with a tougher schedule but over time we are averaging 2-3 conference loses every year.

2-3 conference loseser year is too many if we really want to dominate our conference or consistently be in the mix to win a national championship.

What each of us has to do is ask ourselves if we accept the reality that once in a while things will fall into place and we'll take the SEC west but on average we are a 2-3 loss team that pays our HC $5 million per year.

I can accept this reality I suppose but wonder if some here can do the same.

Guess you missed last season. And save the anomaly garbage.

Loses to SEC teams too often? You do know what conference LSU plays in, correct?

Works out ok for Bama. Last year and this year.

Doesn't seem like it.

Why would we do that when we have you?

Perspective comparison with main competitor-
LSU lost more than 2 SEC games 2/8 seasons under Miles, and 3/5 seasons under Saban.
Saban has lost more than 2 SEC games 2/6 seasons at Bama.

This is vs a tougher schedule than Bama.
The SEC has picked it's favorite son to hang on to the power built by LSU and UF, then stacked the deck against them with the scheduling.

Bama did not lose 2-3 games last year. They lost 1, remember?

Look! You guys don't take this the wrong way.

As I said Les is a good coach but he loses on average 2-3 conference games per year. Will 2-3 loses get us a championship? Occasionally a two loss team has done, we did in fact. But on average it won't get it done.

What part of he has the best winning percentage at LSU do you not understand!

Stupid fans are just that stupid. Complain about losing and then complain about not winning the way they want to win.

Some of you fans are just Turrible!

To us. They never should've gone to the BCS NG. We beat them, on the road. I don't care how good they were. They were a very good team last year and so were we, yet they get a do over and the rest of their schedule was a joke. As it is this year and next year too.

Funny when they beat us on the road, it doesn't work out the same for us. I know about the FL lose and such, still though.

10-2 with our schedule, injuries, new QB under center, is average. Got it.

You guys continue to live and breath Saban. This is not about that guy.

How often has a 2-3 loss team won a championship in the last 10 years or so? We did it once and we all know we were fortunate.

Going from memory I can recall the NC lost that year:
2011 12-1
2010 14-0
2009 14-0
2008 13-1

Beyond that I can remember but anyone can look it up. My point stands. It's nit often 2-3 loses equals a championship and we lose 2-3 on average per year. Right?
