That's what I thought as well. I know people who paid $2000 for a ticket.

All 17,000 of our allotment? Is that really your exciting comeback? The fact that a team had to travel and had as many fans as a team that didn't shows the more dedicated fans. Admittedly, we were going up against one of the top three fan bases (Nebraska and Notre Dame being the other two), but it probably did not excite other bowls.

Yeah but the difference is that they havent done either before. The BCSNCG was old hat for many since it had already happened twice in the last 10 years before January. That's ridiculous, stupid, and spoiled but it is what it is.

This is my argument. If fans are too spoiled to watch a BCSNCG in their backyard then why would the Fiesta think that they would spend way more money and vacation time to watch a non-championship game? I also hate to admit the ridiculous, stupid and spoiled part, but it's true. Our fan base is a shadow of its former self.

Still shocked by how outnumbered we were in that stadium. No excuse for it, unless the Sugar Bowl committee itself fricked us.

I'm not sure where you're getting this info about the BCSNCG. Where you expecting 80-20 LSU or something?

why did they buy 40,000 Rose Bowl tickets?

Tuscaloosa was barely a 5 hour drive.

Anyone who's answer isn't simply JFF, doesn't get it.

Right now they're a team with a very excited fan base and one of the more marketable players in the country. That's all these BCS bowls care about.

You don't have to tell me how well LSU fans travel. Hope the fiesta officials are aware.

TAMU has enrollment over 50,000 and would 'travel' just as well

...Because Johnny Football is the hottest player in college football, his team just knocked off No. 1 Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and consequently a large television audience will want to watch him on a Fiesta Bowl stage against another BCS level team.
I happen to think that LSU may have developed into the best team in college football now that ZM has shown the right stuff on consecutive Saturdays, and I hope the Tigers are selected for the Fiesta, but I do understand the media attraction to the Aggies right now.

Then that and JFF might give them the edge.

This is getting to be worse than when we lost to UF and everyone on here bashed us for three weeks talking about how bad we suck.

A&M won ONE game. Yes a big win for them, but one win nonetheless. They couldn't beat us or UF at home and now everyone is acting like they won the Super Bowl. This is a team that almost lost to frickin Louisiana Tech. They made a big step this past weekend, but these guys have a ways to go before they prove they are going to consistently hang with the big boys of the SEC on a regular basis.

Because A&M couldn't win the Big 12 and go to conference aligned Fiesta Bowl so they are doing it via the SEC.

If A&M has the slightest trouble at home with the two teams they have remaining on their schedule, forget the BCS. But if they destroy them both, they may have a chance with the continuation of the hype.

On a serious note, the Rose Bowl is very interested in LSU coming here from what was said in the L.A. Times just before the game against pure unadulterated evil.
