All true. Where is the "hate"? Is stating what has been the case for several years now with the offense now considered "hate"? Maybe there are some thin-skinned fans here somewhere?

I will say again, that the QB position has hamstrung the football team for years. What is untrue about that statement? It began with RP and went downhill from a QB standpoint from there. Now, Mett has shown some signs of putting things together lately which is a welcomed change. He plays like that down the stretch and LSU will be difficult to beat. Too bad he did not have that at the UF game. Why can the offense not score a td when gifted the ball on the UF 7 yard line. Great teams score a TD.

A play pass during that last possession was a better call, IMHO. Does that mean I hate? I hate LSU losing to 'Bama. No question about that, but I do not hate CLM. How can one hate a person he has never met?

Go have a bratwurst and a weiss beir. Have some fun.

Shockingly the bowl committee, might think about taking a team with a large fan base, that's starved for a good team and might be excited to travel to a big bowl, that's from the 2nd largest state if they finish in the top 10.

Of course this would be the first time ever they would take a team over a higher ranked team, that's never happened.

I don't doubt your fandom, WT - but you're EXHAUSTING to be around. We can split hairs over what "hate" means - but you have an axe to grind, and the focus of your animosity when things don't go well is Coach Miles.

Participating in most threads that you populate is like getting kicked squarely in the balls. Not a glancing blow that simply induces a bit of nausea and passes, but a full-blown nut-rattler of the type doled out by a vindictive cousin during a childhood brawl.

You've every right to bitch. We'll agree to disagree.

It won't matter when LSU ends up #4 in the BCS.

If FSU beats Florida and USC beats Notre Dame, LSU will finish #4 and be a BCS automatic and locked into the Fiesta or Rose. Bama/UGA winner to Sugar, Bama/UGA loser to Cap1, and A&M to Cotton.

If LSU doesn't manage to finish in the Top4, Fiesta/Rose will still pick LSU over A&M. Don't worry, once all the emotions subside about A&M's win over Bama, everyone will come to their senses and realize there is little, if any, chance the Fiesta/Rose pass on #5 LSU.

Bottom line: If LSU wins out and FSU beats Florida, LSU is going to a BCS bowl, either the Fiesta or the Rose. (or Sugar if Bama/UGA somehow slides back into the BCSCG)

Ideally we finish #4 and there is no discussion, it will be automatic. But IMO, even if we don't get into the Top4, we're still going BCS over A&M, assuming FSU beats Florida.

The reverse wasn't run into the teeth of the defense. It involved some misdirection against the defense. The sneak by ware was directly into an 11 man front. All 11 Alabama defenders were between the hash marks. If you can't see the problem there, you are not very football savvy.

This.

Plus Bama's defense takes prides (just like LSU) that they are very physical and can line up and stop you in short yardage situations. When we go 2 tights and toe to toe, they man up and expect exactly what we did: run something between the tackles.
But look back at their alignment when we have 4 wide. Gaps & therefore creases are created for backs, or even the QB, to slide through for a yard or two. I don't understand why CLM is so hard headed to think that you have to go Heavy Package every time you need 1-3 yards.
Plus, Mett was hot. Play action would have probably gone for TD as Bama was jumping the dive play all night(or QB equivalent) EVERY time we came out in 2 tights in short yardage situations.

No axe at all. After all, the buck stops with the head coach. CLM has had ample time to get a good QB and maybe he has finally. But it seems that the poor QB play has been the reason for losses that kept this team from winning it all.

Bad luck? Maybe, but as I have said repeatedly, he has to beat Satan and his bunch or little else matters. Anyone who is grateful for all the wins etc has low expectations that are maybe stuck in the 70-90s. This is a new era (I hope) of LSU football. Damn the torpedoes!

Garmish:

I understand your thinking. But view his comments with some objectivity and it might change your position.

I hope CLM stays for 20 more years. He's a positive image builder for LA and LSU (generally speaking), he is not an arse, his players love him, he has embraced former players as part of the family, his staff likes him and has low turnover, recruits very well, wins all games he is supposed to win & many of the BIG games.

There is no one out there (available) that I would be excited to hire at this time. Starting over with a new coach is not always successful, especially when your program is good already.

BUT, are there issues? YES
Should he change some of his practices? YES
Can he improve? YES
Does he always put his best athletes in positions that allow them to be successful and win games? NO
Does he occasionally/often do some of the dumbest things in college football? YES

I'm not a big fan of WT either, but I haven't seen much that he has said that isn't based in fact or have sound reasoning behing the opinion.

Suggestion from a therapist: you don't like something that is an optional activity, DON'T DO IT. Just don't read WT!

I largely agree with this. CLM has a great reputation and likely is a man of solid character. I think he has been very good, not just for the football program, but for the university and, dare I say, the state. Dismissing RP and TM7 were difficult to be sure, but the right things to do. Which brings me to the entire Jefferson fiasco. Can anyone explain that bit of handiwork? Weird.

The complete "post-RP QB fiasco" was a giant cluster! Could not have been handled any more poorly!

And I will never get over, or forgive CLM, for the offensive ineptitude we displayed on 1/9/12. Not seeing that coming, after stuggling with Arkansas & Georgia & reviewing 11/6/11 tape, may be one of the biggest coaching screw-ups in CFB history.

Wish I was as confident as you JP.

I agree LSU is a marquee program, but A&M is a HUGE university with an incredibly large alumni and fanbase that is starving for BCS success.

Add in the fact that JM will be a top 2 Heisman vote getter and their proximity to Fiesta and rivalry with OU and it will be a much closer decision than people think.

I said last week the Sugar would take ND over LSU and rantards bashed me. It looks like people are now understanding that an undefeated ND team will be EASILY the top replacement pick regardless of traditional conference tie ins.

I've been saying since A&M won that it may not seem logical, but A&M is a very real threat to take the Fiesta spot. In fact I give them the edge.

That said, if K State can stay #1, and Fiesta gets ND, I am very confident that the Rose would take LSU over OU or A&M after our flirting in 06.

The key to LSU in the BCS is obviously getting to #4, but if we can't, we need KSU to stay ahead of Oregon.

I just don't think they will, so ND ends up in Rose and Fiesta chooses bt LSU, OU, and A&M.

Again, I give a slight edge to A&M. Just my hunch.

Could not agree more. I will always believe that LSU got a short shrift having to beat 'Bama twice to win the championship. Utter manipulative non-sense. That was CLMs bad luck, but no one can explain the game plan or the refusal to make any adjustments. Between you and me, you may want to keep that opinion to yourself as it tends to make some of the denizens of these parts . Just sayin'.

They will not get the Node over LSU! If Bama wins out and goes to the SECCG (which I think they will) and Lose to Georgia, Would not the Highest ranked team get the nod?
