one of those teams is Sam Houston State....it doesn't matter what they do against them, they will lose ground just for playing them this late in the season

On 4th and 1 and call a wildcat with ware when Met was playing his best game. If we had converted that 3rd down game over. then we would not have to watch LSU in their soft defense that always cost a touch down. Happens every game, we should learn from our mistakes.

This is very true. I would have thrown a pass on 3rd and 10 in hindsight, but thats easy to say. If it had been a pick that would have been a diasaster and everyone would want Miles fired.

The Saints did the exact same thing on Sunday against the Falcons and their defense SUCKS. Their offense is what wins games for them. Well for LSU at that point, the defense was winning games for us, so thats who we wanted on the field.

There were plenty of questionable calls, and plenty of good ones, but Gumps found a way to snatch the victory from the Tigers. It is what it is.

Please explain to me ONE way in which the fake FG cost us?

Or did you just think that was the cool thing to say?

LSU is so last year.

In the last several years, the SEC West has been decided by one (1) game. That's it. One play could be the difference in that one game. LSU is a good QB away from 1 or more NC titles, but that is another subject...

One executed play could be the difference sure. Tough to blame a loss on one coaching call that YOU think was a bad decision in hind sight.

I realize you have a strong hate for Miles, but the SEC West in 2012 is not coming down to ONE play call...for anyone

This.

A lot of you guys wearing purple and gold glasses just don't get it.

Unless we force our way into the NCG picture during the season, we will ALWAYS be second class citizens to the East and West coast media, not hyped, and therefore not "sexy" to the bowl committees. They want to sell tickets, and fanbases for hungry teams at the top of the BCS rankings will always travel well. They want to maximize advertising revenue, and JFF will get a lot more attention from advertisers than anyone on our Damn Strong but "no-name" team.

I love our Tigers and support them 100%, but we will be lucky not to be in the Chick Fil A bowl.

The reverse wasn't run into the teeth of the defense. It involved some misdirection against the defense. The sneak by ware was directly into an 11 man front. All 11 Alabama defenders were between the hash marks. If you can't see the problem there, you are not very football savvy.

Not every single play call works and if something else had been called there is no guarantee that it would have worked. Its funny how everyone on here can second guess every play call that doesn't work after the fact and say how they would have made a much better play call that surely would have worked.

It was a stupid fricking call.

CLM has no offense for years now. A coach like Saban will beat this kind of LSU team 9/10 times. Again, if an offense has no ability to keep the defense off balance to some degree, it will not likely be successful. (Linky)

quote:

Of course this must have something to do with coaching or lack thereof. Looking around the SEC, I see most schools have had much more production from the QB position that LSU for years. One could say that despite this huge weakness, LSU still wins and one would be correct. But LSU does not win NC games... (Linky)

quote:

Not likely. But CLM is an offensive genius, right? (Linky)

quote:

This is the reason coaches are fired. Can someone on this board, and there are many based on their comments, who can explain how La. Tech hangs more than 1/2 a hundred on aTm, but LSU struggles to get less than half of that? I cannot. I think the La. Tech QB is better that LSU's, but at some point one has to hold the coaches responsible, one way or another. They build the team, practice it and make the game plans and in-game decisions. The latter two are highly suspect from the offensive side of things. It needs to change if LSU is achieve any of its goals. (Linky)

quote:

CLM cannot get an offense that can produce in crunch time. (Linky)

quote:

He [Miles} doesn't think there is a problem [with the O]? That could explain his stubbornly predictable game plans. That makes sense in a depressing sort of way. (Linky)

quote:

Well, Lunatik,I am sure it has nothing to do with coaching... (Linky)

quote:

He had weeks to prep for Bama last year and it was without a doubt not only his worst coaching effort ever, but the worst in LSU history. Maybe the worst in the history of CFB. (Linky)

quote:

This win [versus Texas A&M] is no credit to Lester Miles. He needs to re-evaluate his entire offensive philosophy. The offensive game plan/execution will not accomplish anything in its current iteration. The predictable dive play will get destroyed by Alabama. (Linky)

quote:

If LSU wins [versus Texas A&M] it will be despite CLM inept coaching and because the Ag is the unluckiest BCS team going hands down. (Linky)

quote:

Is CLM in over his head? I say yes. We see the same offensive nightmare game after game, season after season (Linky)

quote:

Way to go LM for a crap of an offensive game plan. (Linky)

quote:

What a stupid call! LM is freaking mad! (Linky)

quote:

LSU will lose. Why not kick with the dang wind? What is wrong with CLM? He makes some of the worst decisions. People wonder why I criticize his coaching? It is idiotic at times, like today. (Linky)

quote:

I think it is time to accept that LSU is not a top tier team. La Tech has a much better O than that of LSU. Much better. CLM cannot get a good offense to emerge. (Linky)
