Anyone else interested? Just gauging interest right now.
I just started a re-read (halfway through GoT) but have no problem starting over, so I'm in.

Great thread. My crackpot theory is Jon Snow is just a Baratheon bastard. No RT + LS. I dont think he will make it to the Iron Throne. Surviving Stannis and the red lady will occupy all his time. He will pave the way for Sansa who will ultimately be queen. Bran is AA reborn and will call on the children of the forest to defeat the others. Bran will warg into dragons.

I think Theon will end up doing something amazing. Just havent figured out what yet. Will assist Dani and Tyrion when they roll into the iron islands.

I like this one, very original. I'm sure Tyrian will find a way to do something awesome that makes him Lord of Casterly Rock.

Maybe, but Rickon is the one being ignored in all of this. He is going to be a badass. Crushing walnuts with his hands as a small child? There is foreshadowing going on that we don't know about yet.

I think Rickon will end up as the Stark in Winterfell. Lord Stark that is.

Been too long since we have seen what he and Osha have been up to. My guess is he is the second coming of his uncle.

Rickon might be a wildling for all we know now. Rickon will royally frick over Littlefinger, though.

I have this fear that Rickon is going to end up unstable or unhinged.

his direwolf is, the wolves take after the kids that claimed them. There is a good chance he will be a bit crazy especially with that happened too him at a young age.

So I just read something interesting regarding the Pink Letter (Letter to Jon, allegedly from Ramsay).
There may be some additional evidence that Stannis wrote the letter (I don't think this specifically has been posted, if it has I apologize from Deutschland).
In the TWOW sample chapter with Theon, Stannis says to Justin Massey:
That seems like such an odd thing to say. Is Stannis purposely trying to spread the rumor that he's dead so the Flayed Men catch wind?
Next there is what Theon says to Stannis in the same sample chapter:
In the Pink Letter it says:
That's a bit odd that the language is almost identical isn't it? Of course you could also make the case that Theon wrote the letter as well. But I thought that was interesting.

"It may be that we shall lose this battle," the king said grimly. "In Braavos you may hear that I am dead. It may even be true. You shall find my sellswords nonetheless."

quote:
"The north remembers. The Red Wedding, Lady Hornwood's fingers, the sack of Winterfell, Deepwood Motte and Torrhen's Square, they remember all of it." Bran and Rickon. They were only miller's boys. "Frey and Manderly will never combine their strengths. They will come for you, but separately. Lord Ramsay will not be far behind them. He wants his bride back. He wants his Reek."

Stannis is likely with Manderly & his troops who wearing the dead Freys gear so they can get into Winterfell. I think Ramsay and his small search party will get obliterated when they come up on the "Manderly/Frey" host.
People make Ramsay/Roose to be much bigger the plot points than they are. They're irrelevant, the real war is bubbling at the wall with the whitewalkers. I think the battle of Winterfell is decided early on in the next book. I think the North sees a short time of peace and declares for Stannis when all hell breaks loose and the wall is destroyed.

I keep thinking back to what Jojen says about the wolves:
"The black one is full of fear and rage, but the grey is strong...stronger than he knows...can you feel him sister?"
The black one is Shaggydog (Rickon's wolk).

All of the wolves' names have some kind of meaning save for Bran's who I can't figure out.
Shaggydog = wild, untamed
Grey Wind = Robb, swept over the realm winning battles but soon died out
Lady = Sansa
Ghost = Jon reborn
Nymeria = Woman warrior & conqueror, foreshadowing for Arya
Summer = ?

I have to respectfully disagree. Especially where Ramsay is concerned and the effect he has had on Theon. There's a lot of plot lines coming to play at Winterfell. You have the Freys who we all want to see go down. You have whether Stannis survives. Same goes with Theon and Asha (still two very big characters). The catalyst for all of that is the things that have gone down with the Boltons. You have fake Arya, the wedding, and the Hooded Man which centers around the Boltons.

You can say this for a lot of the stuff going on. But the reality is these things are shaping the main characters for what is it to come.

I can agree with that.

Obviously that all hinges upon what happens with Stannis at Winterfell against the Boltons.

I honestly don't think there will be an actual battle. I think either a.) Bolton's host gets obliterated inside as they let in Stannis b.) Wildlings come down and frick shite up c.) The Hooded Man and Lady Dustin sabotage Roose from within and let in Stannis.
I don't see two armies lining up in the field and going at it. I think the Battle of Mereen will be kind of similiar, except it will involve dragons burning an army or two to the ground.

I don't necessarily see it happening as a "battle" either but that doesn't make them any less of a plot point.

I don't think Stannis dies until he bends the knee to Jon or helps in some kind of fashion.
