Sandlot is up there. But I'd put Stand By Me in front of it. The only thing that holds SBM back from being pretty damn near perfect is the pie eating scene which was great in it's own right but was so far off from the tone of the rest movie as to be detracting.
Oh, and I can't belive nobody has said it yet: Cool Story Bro in that first paragraph.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

I'll take Indiana Jones over Goonies, loved the Indiana movies as a kid.
And, I'll take Sandlot as a runner-up, and blue ribbon in the sports category.

I challenge anyone to find a kids movie who has given us a more used quote than "You're killing me smalls"
Posted on 6/27/12 at 1:54 pm to barry
Truffle Shuffle
or even "funky butt lovin'" "did he just say funky butt lovin?"

Sandlot is pretty quotable.
It's my #1 sports movie FWIW. I like it that much.
"Fore. Eh. Ver." gets quoted a lot by me as well.

The Sandlot has long been overrated in my humble opinion. Was it a good movie? Yes. But they played that movie so many times at summer camp I finally just got tired of it. And this is coming from a guy who lived and breathed baseball in the 90s as a kid. As soon as I see The Sandlot on TV nowadays I turn to another channel. I find movies like Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, E.T., and The Goonies to be better non-animated films.

Not saying it wasn't greatness. It's just that the movie overall had a certain kind of vibe about growing up and coming of age in a small town during a certain time frame. Kind of melancholy. Almost tragic in some respects. To me, that particular dream sequence just almost blew the whole feel of the movie.
As a comparison, the coming out of the pool, red bikini/boobs scene in Fast Times at Ridgemont High matched the tone of that movie much better.

This thread has been deemed illegitiment.
4 pages and no mention of "A Christmas Story".
Granted it's not the greatest, but c'mon
Red Ryder You'll shoot your eye out kid!

"You'll shoot yer eye out kid"
"Dead things Mikey dead things!"
"Ducks fly together"
A few others that were/are constant quotes of mt friends and I.
I will say I have a friend with the nickname Smalls (doesn't everyone aged 15-30) so "you're killing me smalls" is the most quoted
also ranking non animated kids movies
Sandlot
Goonies
Field of Dreams (does this count?)
Indiana Jones

Completely forgot about Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Loved that as well. Gene Wilder ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconbow.gif)

Although the Indiana Jones trilogy is the second greatest film trilogy, they are not kid movies, unless you are talking about the Young Indiana Jones TV series. Neither is Field of Dreams.
