I'd love for them to come here in a regional. Could you imagine that atmosphere?

I think a lot of regional projections may not come to fruition. You never know what the committee is going to come up with.

Well they lost. They are definitely on the bubble now.

We missed the tourney last year. Do they have a better resume than we did?

Isn't the highest ranking committee member a Big 12 rep?

If that's the case, none of that matters. They are in.

Yep. Seems like the projections rarely come very close to the realities.

Don't they get paired up pretty often?

Yeah TX has to be on the bubble.
They had a 14-10 Conf. record that will help them - and only thing you could point to for their resume' being better than ours last year.
Of course we all know the Big 12 isn't quite on the level of the SEC.

As we learned last year, it's not really about what we think...truth or not

I thought it was a guy from Moo State. I remember the people on ESPN keep asking why wasn't LSU in and keep ragging on how awful of a decision it was to keep LSU out.

Texas may get shipped out west or to another made-for-ESPN regional as a three-seed.

The Horns only option to stay close to home is Rice since they cannot play at a conference rival (Baylor or Texas A&M). I don't think Texas goes to BR over Tulane as a three-seed. The Green Wave cannot go to Rice (CUSA rival) so the travel rule pretty much puts them at LSU. Maybe Tulane could be a two-seed if they sweep the CUSA tourney (doubtful esp. with their RPI)? Then Texas could go to BR as the third seed.

I bet SLU as a three-seed goes to Rice.

May be wrong but the committee is made up of different folks each year. At least it was mentioned on 104.5 the other day.

These are comical. It's annoying as shite that they have that much pull with the committee though. But it's always funny to look at the regionals and then you see one where it's like "Those teams got sent there? Holy shite that regional is stacked." And then you see it's the only one ESPN is televising.

They pick a good team, a team with a huge fan base, a team with high draft pick ace. It's so staged it's ridiculous.

Damn we suck this year. Killing me - we don't deserve a regional spot but if we go to BR it's going to be 2 and q. Hell, wherever we go it's going to be that result.

So what you're saying is something like this:

Palo Ato Regional
1. Stanford
2. Cal State Fullerton
3. Texas
4. Army

Stanford has potential top MLB pick RHP Appel.
CSF and Texas are power programs with the latter having a huge fan base.
Army is America's team in everything.

Note: ESPN angle it so that the Longhorn Network carries a Texas regional while stacking another one for the main channels ("SEE! You NEED this channel!!!")

I immediately thought of 2 regionals:

2009:
1 UCI
2 Virginia
3 San Diego St (Strasburg)

2010:
1 UCLA
2 LSU
3 UCI

Tulane has work to do to even make it to a regional.

No shot that they could be a #2 although that would be a dream scenario for LSU.
