WORST (Top 5) LSU FB losses in last 20 years - NOT negatiger....

Here's my "memorable" but wish I could forget (selective Alzheimer's) top 5 LSU losses of all-time: The Thrill of hopeful/pending Victoy w Defeat
1. Number 1 all-time has to the Vandy loss (at Vandy) when Kinchen caught the winning TD and then ruled illegal push-off. Not even the TENN loss (then victory) could top this emotional roller-coaster IMO.
2. 40-3 blowout loss to the "U" (Miami Hurricanes). The "U" was a top college powerhouse at the time and LSU was beginning to get back to greatness with Mike Archer running the program. Saddest of all (as I recall) it was a HOME game! After the hard-fought but one-sided contest LSU players were quoted as saying "We played great" or something to that effect. This IMO set the program back a few years - including merry go around w coaches. Archer's fate was sealed that day. He had Fla. ties and lost respect from the LSU faithful and the admin.
3. LSU vs AU loss at Auburn b/c of penalty on extra point! LSU was poised (as they are now) for greatness and domination in college football. Saban was running a tight ship and Jarmcuss Russell was coming into his own as a potential ALL-AMERICAN QB. Great game but it was tough to accept as a Tiger fan.
4. LSU loss w Josh Booty at QB against Troy State (I think) - at home again! What a terrible game by our starting all-conference to-be QB. Saban never did pull him and Davey was waiting in the wings. WTF? Sound familiar? Good news on this one is I think we ended up in Georgia Dome for bowl game against Ga. Tech. Davey got his chance in 2nd half and was brilliant!
5. Our last "home" game loss in BCS Title Game! Yes, it will ALWAYS be in my top 5. The loss may have been quickly erased from memory had we given it the "old college try" w Lee AND then become ARGUABLY the BEST college football team of ALL-TIME! Enough already. I'm ready for 2012 season. Geaux Tigers and God Bless All Tiger Fans! It's been a tough Q1.

Monday night Tennessee game was a bad one. Mainly because I was about to have a heat stroke and then that arse threw the ball in the stands

My worst 5 on memory:
1. 1/9/12
2. Jamie Howard Interception game vs AU
3. Auburn refgate on the plains
4. Ark 3OT loss
5. Miracle on Markham
I'm probably leaving off a few. But those sting the most imo.

1. Alabama for National Title
2. Ole miss after historic upset of Florida
3. Florida 2003, should have beaten him
4. UAB
5. Alabama 2008 and Lee performance
All recent, 99% of losses in 90's I am ok with because they were expected

Your choices were terrible fwiw. You have to include the significance of the game in your choices.
In no order:
Auburn 06
1/9/12
Arkansas 02
Auburn 04
Arkansas 07 (even though everything worked out)
Honorable mention: Ole Miss 97

The first two on you list weren't in the last 20 years.

The OP must betting old, as am I. The first two on his list, both of which continue to haunt my sad little life, occurred more than 20 years.

I don't think anything will ever top 1/9/12

#1, UAB, a school realistically still Div2.
Take your pick of 3 or 4 UF and FSU embarrassing 4-5TD blowouts in '90s.
The 3 losses to NU 83-'86(?) when I thought maybe LSU had finally arrived.
1-9-12 hurt due to NC loss, but we at least split with them.

1) 1/9 - Not only the worst loss in recent LSU history but maybe one of the worst losses in recent college football history. Epic, all-time F Up. One for the ages. The worst sporting event I have ever watched. There should be a monument to that loss with a reflecting pool where people go and sit and say "man, that was fricking sad."
2) Ole Miss 2009 - Embarrassingly awful.
3) Tennessee 2005 - beaten by a bad team with a reject backup qb at Tiger Stadium after being ahead 27-3. Pee yoo.
4) UAB in 2000 I think? - not so bad because that was the first year with a new coach after the DiNardo firesale and before LSU really learned how to win. Still pretty bad because it was UAB.
5) Florida in 1993 - lost at home 58-3, the worst point loss in LSU history. Not quite so dramatic because LSU football was being raped and murdered by Curley Hallman at that time and therefore was not really surprising. Still, it is the ultimate reminder of the darkest days of LSU football.

If the list doesn't look like this...
1. 1/9/2012
2. 1/9/2012
3. 1/9/2012
4. 1/9/2012
5. 1/9/2012
*.
*.
*.
999,999,999 1/9/2012
...then you're not being honest with yourselves.
Stakes couldn't have been higher that night, given the nature of the game, it's location, and the season LSU had had up until that point.
It was a devastating loss, given it's high-profile nature.
Not trying to be overly dramatic or anything but, c'mon, let's be real here.

1-9-12 to Alabama was THE worst loss in LSU history.
Forget Jamie Howard. Forget the U. Forget Florida and 58 points.
21 to zereaux is the worst.

More than 20 years ago. 1990.

2. 40-3 blowout loss to the "U" (Miami Hurricanes).
More than 20 years ago, in 1988. Also, it was 44-3, not 40-3. 40-3 was our win over them in 2005.

4. LSU loss w Josh Booty at QB against Troy State (I think)
UAB, not Troy.
For me, the top 5 of the last 20 years would be this:
5. 7-3 loss to Auburn in 2006's "Refgate" game. Never saw a team get screwed so consistently throughout a game as that day. It wasn't just one really egregious call, but consistent bad calls over and over and over. It cost us the SEC West title and possible SEC and national titles.
4. 36-21 loss to Ole Miss in 1997, one week after we had knocked off #1 Florida and appeared to be ready to become an elite program.
3. 30-26 loss to Auburn in 1994 when we held them to 165 yards of offense and no offensive TDs. Howard's three pick sixes in the fourth quarter were flat-out surreal.
2. Though in hindsight it didn't matter, 50-48 loss to Arkansas in 2007. At the time, it looked like we had blown our chance at a national championship.
1. January 9, 2012. We actually did blow our chance.

off the top of my head:
1. 1/9/12
2. UAB '00...no comment
3. getting drubbed by ole miss in '08 AT HOME
4. 31-0 loss to bama in '02 AT HOME...worst game I've ever experienced in TS.
5. Losing to Ole Miss the week after we upset #1 UF in '97 AT HOME.
Any loss to Ole Miss or a team from Alabama is just painful.
