NFL Draft - Jordan Jefferson

According to most NFL draft experts Jordan will be taken as a 5th or 6th round project QB in the upcoming draft. Despite the LSU rantards that believe he has nothing to offer, the NFL scouts see a proven winner, a physical prototype, and an NFL caliber arm.
Not only does he meet the physical expectations of a draftable QB but he has run a system from under center for many years at a high level program and increased his awareness and decision-making every year. This has all culminated in the performances we've seen from him since taking over for Lee in the Alabama game.
In a funny twist of fate, scouts also mention the adversity JJ has faced (and overcome) from his own hometown crowd as evidence of his mental fortitude and winning nature. I am excited to have JJ lead us in the SEC Championship game this weekend and expect another solid outing.
Good luck to JJ in the NFL next year after we collect some hardware in the next month or so!

JJ would be destroyed in the NFL. Can you imagine him as a dropback passer only?

Watch Belichek draft him as a project behind Brady and turn him into a viable back-up and have the op to start when Brady retires.

I told my father if he got a chance in the pro's this would be one huge attribute.

They drafted Mallet last year. I doubt JJ's got a shot.
I've seen a draft eval of JJ that shows he's a definite UFA prospect. I haven't seen any that show he's draftable, period.
Not saying they aren't out there. Just that I haven't seen ANY info to that effect.

What NFL team wants a QB that can only run an option system?

He may get a shot as a UFA, but I could see a team taking a chance on him to maybe try to bulk him up to a h-back or try him as a possession receiver.
I'm not saying that he has definately improved, but I just don't see the accuracy to be an NFL quarterback.

Have you watched at all this season? With a capable OC I think he'd be good enough to be on an NFL roster.

Already drafted Ryan Mallett for this reason.

I heard that Detellier made a comment that Sean Payton was fond of JJ and perhaps would take him on as a project as an UDFA. Not sure about the validity of that, but I heard it from a couple people.

Big factor being overlooked:
2 1/2 years of staring experience.
He'll be 21 on draft day.

Good luck to him and all our departing Tigers after this season. I hope they do well for themselves and do LSU proud.
Why is that so hard for some to say?

I can't see JJ's talents translating to the NFL, but if he gets a shot I wish him the best.
Maybe Denver can draft him to backup Tebow.

His physical size and strength/speed, coupled with the fact that he has proven that he is, in fact, quite coachable, will be more than enough to get him drafted at a respectable position.

In case any of you were wondering, We've run the Pro Formation almost half of the time this year as an offense.
When JJ is in the game, we run Spread almost 65% of the time. That's based on personnel, folks. He ain't the under-center classic NFL-prototype, & never will be. He has struggles with full-field reads, & actually struggles with multi-keyed reads, & this isn't news to anyone in the SEC or the game of Professional football, either.

Did anyone watch Vince Young last night? I hope JJ doesn't turn out like that waist of talent.
