Pro's:
-6-5, 223, 4.65 speed
-strong arm
-decent accuracy on deep passes
-can run for his life & move the chains
-23-7 winning record as an LSU starter
-has never thrown a pick six

Cons:
-Enlongated over-the-head throwing motion
-ball placement stinks on mid-range passes; throws too high or low & away on short passes/screens
-mobile, but not a true scrambler with elusiveness
-runs for his life because he locks on one WR & has never looked off a safety in his career
-runs into the D-linemen chasing him at the edge of the pocket
-does not look down-field when running for his life; looks at the D-Lineman or LB blitzing
-still has trouble taking snaps after 4 years of college ball
-ball security issues
-no time-clock in his head for releasing the ball
-no time-clock awareness under two minutes of a game; looks to sidelines; then looks at plays on wrist just to spike

I will add:

Pros:
Seems to be well-liked by teammates and coaches. Seems to be a leader

Cons:
Holds onto the ball when he should throw it away.

I agree. Whether he has the arm or not, he floats the ball a LOT.

False. You must not be watching this season.

Throwing motion has improved and can be worked on.

Has improved tremendously on his accuracy this season.

He is pretty elusive. Not sure what you have been watching.

A lot of these criticisms would be valid in previous seasons. Apparently you haven't watched him play recently.

LOL at the people in this thread comparing Jefferson to Tim Tebow and Troy Smith (Heisman winners)

Has he ever throw a deep out? I'm not sure they've ever asked him too.

I'm not trying to demean him. I consider equal to saying "Kenny Hilliard doesn't run a 4.4." It's just being realistic IMO.

He certainly doesn't have the arm strength of JJ, but he has thrown the deep ball well this year. He has a quick release and can put great touch on the ball. If he could learn how to handle pressure I could see a team taking a chance on him too.

People are comparing certain skills to these guys, not the overall product. Also, what the frick does the Heisman trophy have to do with a player's NFL potential?

I just realized you and I had this conversation earlier in the yr, you pretty clearly have never thought much of Lee's arm. not going there again.

Disagree with this.

I agree with a lot of what you said.

You are being overly harsh, IMO. Harping on his negatives and glossing over his positives, IMO.

Moneybadger is a troll. Read his post history about Jefferson. Don't respond to him.

Yeah but he isn't good at throwing on the run. That's what I think he means by "scrambler." He is great at running when he is pressured but can't do that in the NFL.

Yeah, I think we did.

I'll gladly accept video evidence disputing my claims.

Is there video of him throwing deep outs? Or putting a lot of mustard on the ball?

I have no problem admitting to being wrong, perhaps I'm misremembering.

I know, I had it out with him in the thread about whether or not JJ would be boo'd on Senior Day. Money is a racist and a douchebag.

I agree. He does have a nice touch. But he won't be able to do that in the NFL.

All stuff he has improved on this year. We are just now seeing him in midseason form.

Jefferson has put up no where near the rushing stats those guys did in college. I wouldn't say he is comparable to those players even when you focus the conversation to that individual skill.

Well, deep ball is one way to measure the arm strength. Most of his deep balls have a high arc/loft and nice drop to them. It's not as if he's Russell and can sling it 60 yards on a rope (but then again, who can?)

I think a lot of guys can make that type of throw (especially D1 college QBs). Robert Griffin comes to mind. I think his arm is comparable to Lee's. And Griffin is a fabulous player.

I agree totally.
