I never Understood how they left him till I rewatchednit For the first time in forever.

1. They have a million kids.
2. His ticket got thrown out when the pespi is spilt
3. They do a head count in the car and the neighbor kid gets counted instead of Kevin’s

Now obviously this should only get them to the gate at which point they should once again check to see if they have all their children before flying to Paris.

Still better than “oops we forgot a kid completely”

They barely made it to O'Hare for the flight and are seen running down the jetway. No one noticed even then.

Sort of.

But plenty of others of us put in work though, so it’s worth the read.

I remember spending way too much time at work measuring steps in my office building for my post about the house in HA2.

I watched HA2 last night. I realize it's a movie, and they have to set up Kevin's conflict with his family, but the way they did it with the recital was terrible. First, Buzz didn't do anything that funny. To have the entire audience of adults falling all over themselves while a high school kid embarrasses an elementary student is ridiculous. Second, the direction they took Uncle Frank in the movie seemed very off as well. The singing in the shower seems like something he would never do, and him falling all over himself over Buzz's antics felt off as well. Not only should Kevin be applauded for pushing Buzz, but I wouldn't have blamed him for setting the entire auditorium on fire.

I felt quite the opposite, it seemed very on-brand for Frank.

Is it even possible for them to make it from their house to Ohare in time?

Their house in Winnetka is a 28 minute drive in light traffic from O’Hare, so to make a flight, not a chance.

That would’ve made for a short movie.

Joe Pesci Reflects on Making "Home Alone 2" as Movie Turns 30: "I Did Sustain Serious Burns"

quote:

"In addition to the expected bumps, bruises, and general pains that you would associate with that particular type of physical humor, I did sustain serious burns to the top of my head during the scene where Harry's hat is set on fire," the Goodfellas actor says, noting that he did the stuntwork required for that particular scene himself.

The one thing that continually bothers me about HA2 is how suspicious Tim Curry’s character is. I get that story line had to unfold but I feel like they should have made him have his doubts for a different reason. Not just because there’s a kid in your lobby.

Also, was it that easy to book a hotel in those days?
“Hi, my name is Peter McCallister, I’d like a room please”
“Ok you’re all set. Have a nice day!”

In his mind, seeing a kid pay for a hotel room without an adult was the cause for suspicion, which is understandable. However, he went over-the-top to "get" him, when a simple conversation with Kevin (hey what's going on?) could've smoothed things over until his parents arrived.

But then we wouldn't get prime Tim Curry.

For me, here are my main gripes (I might have covered some of these in the past):

* How they refer to the events of HA1 as "last year," even though Kevin was 8 in the first movie but 10 in the second. Just make it two years apart.

* Assuming Duncan's Toy Chest is in Midtown Manhattan near the Plaza, how Kevin, Harry, and Marv could run 40+ blocks to West 95th Street without breaking a sweat, that distance is well over two miles.

* Kevin covered a ton of ground when he arrived in just a few hours going from LGA > Radio City > Chelsea > Chinatown > Battery Park > WTC

* Buzz getting a pass compared to the trout sniffer.

hahaha this is so true watching now. as a kid, it just made sense bc why WOULDNT an adult be super concerned with the events in a kid's life?

it's like Karate Kid 3 where you have two grown arse men plotting to destroy the life of a fifteen year old. it made sense watching as a kid. now it's like, jeez guys...maybe just move on.
