I'm a Tiger....which, frankly, makes you an hors dourve. the main course does not include duck or elephant. jmho.

you guys need a new name. 'ducks'....seriously?

ducks eat pond scum and waddle around all day making annoying sounds until they fly down here in the fall and get their asses shot off.

"TIGERS", well let's just say....they prowl...they growl...and they take what they want.

Hey there Duck, Know what I think ?? YOur Duck team should just join the SEC and show us little teams how to play college football. You Duck team does real good against non SEC teams . Come on in the water is fine in the SEC Pool

Just a quick look at the Oregon vs SEC games over the last decade might soften your statement a bit.

2011 LSU 40 Oregon27
2010 @ Tennessee 13 Oregon 48
2010 Auburn 22 Oregon 19
2003 @ Mississippi State 34 Oregon 42
2002 vs. Mississippi State 13 Oregon 36

We have Tenn at home next year and Georgia pulled out of a home and home with us. Point is we are certainly willing to play SEC schools. We've taken a few lumps from the good SEC teams and certainly handled the lessor SEC teams we've played.

This is a push. Arkansas is arguably better than Stanford and Penn State is arguably better than USC. Either way, both are pretty close.

2002 Miss State was 3-9 and 2003 Miss State was 2-10. Nothing to brag about. Tennessee is horrible now and have been for the past few years - again, nothing to get too excited about. Let me know when you guys beat a mediocre SEC team

Edit: UT was 6-7 last year. Meh

This one is debatable.

The fact is: Bama>Arky,Penn St., USC, & Oregon

All of this will be a moot point when OSU wins out.

Also, if you get a chance, check out Georgia's schedule. HELLO! It's the anti-LSU. That is one overrated team.

In what way is Stanford superior to Arkansas? Arkansas has a potent offense with a very good QB, RBs and WRs. Stanford doesn't have a WR on its roster who could be a backup at Arkansas. And Arkansas's defense, while not a world beater, is definitely better than Stanford's.

While Georgia's schedule might not be the toughest, UGA is a team loaded with talent. And the way UGA is playing at this point of the season, I guarantee you the Ducks wouldn't want any part of them.

The bottom line is that the talent level of the best SEC teams is superior to that of PAC 12 teams.

The guy with the boat in the slip next to mine was having a beer with me at the marina. I didn't know he was a duck. We were talking football. I said I'd gone to the Oregon/LSU game and most of the ducks I met and sat around were complete assholes.

He said, "I was there... and my dad was a duck. He played football at Oregon."

My retort: "Is your dad an a-hole, too?"

His reply, "Not nearly as much as LSU fans."

Mine back, "You're a butthurt bitch! But I like your boat. Want to swap wives?"

We both laughed and it was over.

Glad you guys are going to be conference champs. Makes our resume so much stronger than yours, though.

Enjoy the Rose Bowl.

That's absolutely true. Of course when we scheduled Tenn they were a legit team. My point was the poster was talking about how poorly we'd do in the "SEC", those teams are part of the SEC. Personally I think the SEC east is quite weak this year. The SEC west is tough as nails. LSU, Bama, Ark, three excellent teams.

To summarize...
LSU much better than everybody
I agree with this, though we do have our weaknesses. I think LSU would beat anyone they're matched up against (yes, even Alabama AGAIN) but without a potent offense it's a matter of how close the game would end up being.
quote:

'Bama probably better but not as deserving as Oregon
I agree somewhat. We have seen how LSU defends against the spread; has Bama been tested this year even? Nonetheless, I think Bama would win vs Oregon.
quote:

Stanford definitely better than Arkansas (see last years BCS games + one team returned their QB)
I wouldn't say definitely, but I agree they are better. Arkansas barely squeaked by Vanderbilt and Ole Miss. OLE MISS! That's laughable. Vandy should have beat them by 2 scores easily. They got lucky. However, on a good day, they may be better than Stanford and most certainly they are better defensively.

I think we should do a rematch with both Alabama and Oregon. For the Alabama rematch, it should be a field goal kicking contest.
For Oregon, a speed test: one player from Oregon and one from LSU both line up on the same goal line at different hash marks. One gets the ball. Fire the starters pistol and the guy without the ball must tackle the guy with the ball before he crosses the other goal line. Repeat with all starters. Winner is the one who scores the most TDs.

Thanks, told you guys before the Oregon LSU game I'd be back regardless of the outcome. You guys have great fans. Unlike the "other tigers" in your conference. Not a good experience with them.

Hey, Ducks are cool!!!

Lions, tigers and bears oh my.........

I actually like having a team mascot that's "different" from the crowd. Plus, we've probably got the fittest mascot in college football. And he's got a bit of an attitude. LINK

Of course given all the teams that have copied things we do I'd expect a few to change their mascot to a Duck in the near future. Whether it's uniforms, facilities, marketing, maybe next will be mascots. Hey wait a minute we use to be known as the "Tall Firs" now Stanford is the "Tree". I think that's close enough.

I think Oregon is a National Championship caliber team this year. that being said you guys had your shot at us on a neutral field and basically got blown out. I really respect your program, but if there is another one loss team that wins its conference then they should get the shot over either Oregon or Bama. Whoever wins the big 12 IMO.

Based on what? The LSU game? Or running up the score on the Pathetic-12?

It was 30-13 at the end of the 3rd and 40-27 at the end of the game. Where does that fall out in reference to the SEC?

One game against LSU and both starting Rbs were sitting on the bench with injuries. What would their team look like if they had to play in the SEC every week?

I think they are the class of the Pac-12, and had they not faced LSU at the beginning of the year, I'm sure they would be a virtual lock for the MNC game. However, they did play, and we know better.

I love all of this hypothesizing, speculating, team pride, and smack talking back and forth. It's why college football is so much fun. It's all good.

You're still delusional.
