Pretty shitty year for films

There have been a shite ton of movies that I liked but none that I really loved.

The complete opposite of 2010, where there were many movies I loved (Social Network, Inception, Scott Pilgrim), but not many others that I liked.

2012 looks pretty sick though at least. Either it will be awesome or be a huge disapointment.

The Guard

Or

Crazy, Stupid Love.

But I haven't seen Drive or a plethora of the other dramas.

The Help

I'll swallow my pride and give The Help some love, but the best movie of the year has to be The King's Speech. And it's not close.

What's all this love for the King's Speech?

It won the Oscar for last year's films. It was released in 2010!

Just because you saw it post-Oscar doesn't make it the best movie of this year.

Two good ones. Received a 7 and 8, respectively, in the TulaneLSU review thread.

Technically true and I was thinking the same thing. But it DID come out December 24th, so if you didn't see it the first week you saw it in 2011. But yeah, it's a 2010 movie.

Well nationwide release was that late but it had been out for months in the US.

At least it should end well. The Ides of March, 50/50, The Skin I Live in, J. Edgar, A Dangerous Method, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and others I'm forgetting all looking like they could be very good.

As for right now, I'd have Drive and Midnight in Paris as my co-favorites this year.

Drive haunts me. The further I get away from having seen it, the better it becomes.

Tree of Life was utter shite.

Midnight in Paris was utterly "just good.". I enjoyed it, but can't believe it's getting Picture of the Year consideration.

Anxious to see Ides of March

Yeah I don't really disagree with that. I'm just a guy with a history degree who wishes he could be Owen Wilson's character in that film.

And I agree 100% on Drive. My appreciation of it has only grown since leaving the theatre.

Not sure I'd enjoy that.

I have a weakness for Woody Allen movies.

Of the movies I have seen
1. Hanna
2. XMEN
3. Apes

I have not seen Drive and I'm not a Woddy Allen fan so I probably will not see midnight in Paris.

You guys have weird taste...Transformers 3 was the best movie when you think of how well the animations were ..the acting...the stunts ...the whole plot was great even though some of you disagree with how the story should have went

I agree Xmen was pretty good

Well put.

I've watched it twice. Couldn't stop thinking about; have to rock the soundtrack now.

I've been listening to these songs non-stop.

I really wanted to see that, dammit.

I can't remember all the movies I've seen, but Drive was great and Midnight in Paris was fantastic.

I liked Xmen the most so far. But I can almost guarantee The Tree of Life or War Horse will win best picture. The movie I want to see the most is Coriolanus though.
