NO way a jury convicts JJ on these charges

Too much contradiction in testimony to get a jury to decide beyond a reasonable doubt.

Which make you wonder why the Police would go ahead and try to ruin someone's life.

Who, besides the employees of the bar, is contradicting that JJ kicked a guy in the head?

I know you guys don't give to shits probably, but I think what they are doing to JJ is a travesty. Screwing up a kids life for a bar fight? What they hell are they smoking?
I hope he is out one game and then comes back. Miles should not kick him off the team.

High profile BS.
JJ comes from a good family and is not a thug.

If some fricking out of control a-hole comes at you, he gets his arse kicked and then it is your fault?
No way a jury gets convinced beyond a reasonable doubt to convict JJ. At best, it ends up as a hung jury.

Why is JJ's life screwed up? He was never going to be in the NFL and he can still get a college degree I think you guys are over reacting

The didn't arrest him for the bar fight. Kicking someone in the face while they're down and defenseless wasn't part of the fight. It's after the fact and you just can't do it. Its battery, not to mention a real bitch move on his part.

Neither will be convicted in court after everything comes out.

If JJ simply whipped his arse, no charges would be filed. It when someone who is 6'5" and 225 lbs decides to use someone elses head as a soccer ball that it becomes a problem.

I agree. But this was about sufficient data to arrest, which does not always ensure conviction as you know. Life is full of bad breaks, some deserved some undeserved. I think this one falls in the middle since he partially brought this on to himself. Nonetheless, it is unfortunate, and I hope he shakes it off and is re-enstated. However, just like JJ started due an unfortunate situation for Lee and kept the starting spot, if Lee capitalizes, Miles should retain Lee as the starter.

Ironsides, great point, having a degree from LSU will get him a great job, especially in Louisiana or Houston where there's a ton of alumni.

in a case where witness credibility matters, this is very relevant. If this case goes to trial, the character of both will be front and center. You're way off on this one, Ice.

I agree 100%... These are kids.. and something like this could break JJ and make him a life long time criminal because of a bar fight and no real proof. The shoes must be the magic OJ glove...

I don't guess the kid's that got beat down life is affected. Think about what you are saying, what if it was JJ who got the shite kicked outta him?
Posted on 8/27/11 at 8:55 am to Paulu
don't believe it even gets to a jury. DA will NOT accept 2nd degree battery charges. curious to see if Nathan Fisher looks into past cases where freaking DNA was taken for 2nd degree freaking battery! i'm VERY familiar with homicide investigations and DNA buccal swabs and what not...and i'm still trying to figure out the whole JJ DNA sample

I don't know what the evidence will reveal, but if the ignorance and prejudice in this forum is a reflection of the jury pool, I'd agree he has no chance of being convicted.
