Disagree.
You have fans on the western edge of the conference who never go to ATL.
If we add Texas to the footprint, there's a whole new HUGE market of SEC fans that could be exposed to the SECCG, whether in Houston or Dallas. The metros combined have 12 million people and they are 3.5 hours apart.
Playing the SECCG a few times in Texas would go a long way towards solidifying Texas as a SEC state.

From Auburn, its roughly 730 miles from Auburn to Arlington which I assume is what yall meant when playing the game in Dallas. I wouldn't mind have the game in a the Superdome, but not sure I would want it in Dallas/Ft. Worth area.

Yeah, it seems like Atlanta would be the only fit for now.
I didn't show Missouri or Oklahoma or Texas A&M or Texas on the list. If the SEC expands to 16 teams and they are all from the Big 12 (or whatever it is), then I think we would see, at the minimum, rotating SEC Championship Game venues to include a stadium in Texas. If the SEC picks up two from the Big 12 and two from the ACC, Atlanta would probably still be the most "neutral" site. If the SEC expands to 14 and picks up only A&M and Mizzou/Oklahoma, I have no idea where the championship venues would be.

atlanta is the PERFECT venue for the SEC CHAMP. GAME.......if lsu doesnt like it, then go independant with texas.....roll tide roll....

If we pick up a few teams from the Big XII, I'm sure it will get moved around. Undoubtedly, all of those teams will be closer to the Texas metro areas than Atlanta. But we'll have to wait at least another year to do those distances.

If the SEC adds A&M or Missouri or whoever, it should still stay in Atlanta, none of the teams from the Big 12 will ever be able to compete for the SEC. Therefore, there is no point in hosting it in a TX market.

People who think Atlanta is 'perfect' and the end all be all of the SEC title are full of shite. Change happens...the Bear is dead...time to move on at some point.
Also, what's with the whole traveling to NOLA two times possibly if the SECCG is there. I get it...I understand. Other BCS bowls involve return trips.
The Rose Bowl (stadium) gets plenty of Pac-10/12 action and the game is still played there.
When the Cotton Bowl was major, Texas would play there twice a year at times...sometimes 3 because it was SMU's home stadium.
Miami played in plenty of Orange Bowls...as did FSU. They were no strangers to that stadium, and that was when the Orange Bowl was a game people cared about.
Really...this leaves the Fiesta Bowl. And look at the bowl history and check out who played in the bowl alot, and the stadium.
This shite is retarded. I guess the gumps are so excited at the chance of leaving the state that they want to go east (Atlanta) AND west (New Orleans) and not the same place. Here's a thought...take your mobile home out to NOLA, and if you win the SECCG then just stay for a while til the bowl game...it's cost effective.

Personally, I like the SECCG in Atlanta, I think it gives it more identity than if it rotated. It is a nice venue in a large city that is fairly centralized to most of the teams.
The Jerry Dome seems cool, but that is not enough of an incentive to mess up the good thing the SEC already has going by shipping the SEC's biggest event out to the geographic edge of the conference.
