I don't like coffee with just cream, that just tastes like poopoo dirty water . And.. I'm not on Atkins anymore and I'm not supposed to have dairy, besides some cheeses and raw milk.

Made some bad arse pizza tonight. Took eggplant from the garden to use as a crust and added cheese, garlic, pepperoni, tomato, and a little maranaria (spelling?). Here are the stats per piece.
Cal 189
Fat 11.9
Sodium 559
Carbs 9.4
Fiber 4.4
Protein 11.0
Cholesterol 23.6.

Not to bad if you ask me.

I just sliced the eggplant about 1/2" thick circles then brushed with olive oil. Baked it for about 7 minutes then added topping and baked another ~ 10 minutes or so.

If I get time tomorrow I'll post a pic.

Will power is hard, especially after the progress you have made- I know it was hard for me to keep it up for the last 5-10lbs the last timeless I tried and I only wanted to lose 30lbs. that's why I'm back again 2 years later

191/185.5/170

1lb away from my low from last week.

I have another 50 or so. I'm going to leave my goal at 250 for now just so that I can feel what it's like to hit that goal since it has been that since the beginning. But I want to lower it to 220.

Yeah- my original goal was 180, then when I got to 180, I decided I really needed to be 170, but I got to 180 and i just quit- now I'm back at 190, so it was bandwagon time. It's amazing how 10lbs just jumps on board with little or no effort, even after you're accustomed to healthy eating- a lb here, a lb there and all of a sudden, 10lbs are back.

Yep.
Gotta weigh in at least once a week to maintain, imo. It's too hard for the average person to weigh calories in/calories out without documenting everything they eat to maintain without gaining some, imo.

guys, wanted to share a story with you.

i've got another co-worker doing this (including the cadfasts)

jan 1, he weighed 290.

today he came in at 224.

unbelievable. he kept saying he was a 'biscuit shy of 300' and he's in his 50s. he's not really even doing atkins 'per se' but really focusing on keeping his calories under 1500 and once a week fast.

pisses me off..his weight loss looks like a straight line from jan to today..mine is this gentle lazy wave that took me 2 years to get from 257 to 190.

anyway, his doctor just told him he doesn't need his high-blood pressure meds anymore his wife is THRILLED.

i love helping people.

eta 189 today..at least i'm back under 190 again.

Question for low carb gurus

My roommate has decided to limit his carb intake to 50g a day to 'lean up' for his upcoming vacation. The stupid thing is he eats no vegetables or fruit and then uses the 50g carbs on pretzels or some bread or grain.. we're having a debate on whether or not he's actually going to go to a ketogenic state. I say no, because feeding his body the grains at all is going to make his body want more. All he is doing, imo, is forcing his body to run on carbs and then not giving it the carbs it needs for energy, and he's been complaining that he has no energy since cutting his carb intake. He claims he read on body building forums that regardless of what he eats, as long as he's under 50g or so of carbs he'll be in a heavy ketogenic state.

What say you?

why not just eat a few spoonfuls of sugar?

i think he's mentally preparing for failure..ketosis is a state of mind as much as it is a physical thing.

he's got one foot in the water and will eventually fail IMHO. you can't tease yourself with 50 carbs a day by wolfing down pretzels without eventually giving in and burying your head in the bag.

if he's going to eat some carbs..at least eat some complex carbs that aren't going to immediately spike your blood sugar.
