Dozens of cheesy lines at the Survivor-style campfire scene.
Jack as he stands awkwardly,"This is what I am supposed to do".
Jacob with his eyes half closed,"Then it is time".
Jacob after making Jack drink water from a random stream,"Now you're like me".
Why couldn't Jacob just have brought all the candidates together sooner and had a campfire?

this is the first time I have replied in these lost threads, i have read almost all of them this season though.
just a few questions.
1. now that jack is officially jacobs replacement does that mean that MIB can kill kate, sawyer, and hurley since they are no longer "candidates"?
2.with widmore being killed by ben do yall think that the submarine have any importance in the finale?

I'm catching up on this thread, but awesome episode last night.
I was thinking it would have been awesome if Jacob handed Jack the cup, and Jack was like "That's a little unsanitary, huh? Shouldn't we sterilize it first?"

I can't believe no one has commented on this yet, but there was something weird going on with the mirrors in this episode.
First, when Jack wakes up at the beginning he looks in the mirror and has a cut on his neck (the same cut from the plane in the 1st ep.) It is on the left side of his neck until he looks in the mirror and then it is on the right side of his neck.
Also, when Ben is in the nurse's office looking in the mirror. He has his arm in a sling, but in the mirror it's the opposite arm.
Reminds me of Poltergeist III when everything in the mirror is actually an alternate universe.
If you didn't notice, watch it again.

Oustanding issues that I don't think will be resolved but are serious problems:
--What is the game Jacob and MIB were playing? why would little Jacob show up randomly telling MIB "you can't kill them" when clearly he can kill them.
--why the hell could MIB not leave the island even prior to his converion into smoke. That was just stupid, since there was no issue with Jacob leaving the island at will even though he was supposed to be "protecting it".
--what is the point of Ben killing Jacob if Jacob can just show up anyway and tell everyone what they need to know.
--how can Jacob show up as a little kid now and then seconds later as an adult?
--Jacob promised Richard he would never die and it looks like he may have died
--what exactly was "the incident"? It has never been definitively explained.
