Would rather get a Hoegaarden which is the beer its trying to imitate.

i really dislike Blue Moon but I'm not a fan of the Belgium white wheat style. Orange, coriander, spices, etc. just aren't flavors that work in a beer for my tastes. I have plenty of friends that love the stuff.

It is certainly not a bad beer, and I appreciate that Coors does not promote it as one of theirs, but it is still one of their beers and I try to stay away from the big company beers. Just out of principle.

Hoegaarden is much better than Blue Moon but if it isn't available I will drink a blue moon draft.

On this board I would tend to imagine that you're going to get a lot of dislikes due to people considering themselves to be more of a Connaisseur of beers and preferring some of the craft beers, but truth be told it is a solid product for the price especially being a Coors beer like stated above. When I was bartending it was a good start for people trying to branch out from light beers. For a belgian white it's pretty average. I enjoy Hoegaarden but I'm not sitting around paying 7 bucks a pint because I drink too much, and it's not very economical or healthy. It bothers me when places try to push it at twice the price of light beers. Budweiser has a pretty similar product in SHOCK TOP if you like Blue moon you will probably like this one.

I am a fan of both Blue Moon and Shocktop.
The only reason I buy oranges, I find them both tasty and refreshing, they are both also readily available and inexpensive.

Same here. I will buy a six pack from time to time for the house but if at a bar I will drink blue moon. I have recently been buying bud light golden wheat.

What LSUAfro said. Blue Moon<hooegarden<st Bernardus Wit. I believe Pierre Celis was the brew dude who originally made Hoegaarden before it went big time and the recipe was diluted. He now makes the St Bernardus Wit, or he consults for them or they at least use his recipe. That is a good wit bier.

Thanks for the input. I'm by no means a beer connoisseur...Mostly Bud & Bud Light. I tried one in a draft and enjoyed it. Just wanted some other opinions.

I always thought this to be the case. I'm not a fan, but know plenty of people who are.
