Getting talent at LaTech should be easier than at Idaho, Utah State, Navy, and Nevada

There's a lot of talent in Hawaii so losing to them is understandable. Boise is in a medium sized and nice city so they might be able to draw some California talent
There's no reason for a team from Louisiana to lose to a team from Logan Utah or Moscow Idaho

quote:Never impossible, all it takes is another good coach hire, and a few stud lineman or athletes to get things going. Look at a program like UH- for 10 years their program was shite, they were below Tulane, now over the last few years, they are on the upswing. It can happen at Tech...

let us not forget that la tech was transfer u under dooley, which didn't turn out great on the field and supposedly fricked up their locker room. if the play on the field justified it, then yeah i'd say go for it

Dooley's a lot better interview/front man/CEO than he is head coach.
He's that guy at work that never does shite but knows what to say to the boss to get paid.

Do you think Les Miles would have had a better record at La Tech than Dooley? I say No.

Absolutely not.

Dooley's got a lot of potential, but I don't think he's really proven much. He was also trying to be the AD and head Football coach simultaneously, which can often cause a problem of putting forth full effort to each.
Dooley will be as good as his assistant coaches are.

Miles built a solid BCS program at Okie State from nothing in a pretty short time

LA Tech could be like Troy and have yearly winning seasons. They've had some good teams and players in the past.
People act like Dooley is a coaching God for going 17-20 and continuing basically what his predecessor accomplished.

He came within 8 points of Jarrett Lee led LSU, that's pretty much impossible.

it's not even the high accolades
saying he's a good coach (let alone a great one) or that he's going to do big things "one day" is a huge stretch to me
