seriously? I didn't buy into the initial muschamp hype, but he's made a pretty big impact at his 2 stops since stepping out from saban.

He's turned around what was once considered a very soft Texas D.

If Dooley's X's and O's were worth a crap, we'd have won a lot more games this year. We had the personnel to bulldoze teams with the running game, and needed to eat up time anyway to keep our still-weak secondary off the field. Take a look at our game against LSU. You can't deny we were shoving the ball down LSU's defense's throat with our running game up the middle... and then we just quit running it. That's how every game went this season. Suddenly, it would become time to run a bunch of stupid draw plays from the shotgun and try to force our weak-armed QB to throw the bomb. On defense, we went from blitzing the piss out of our opponent, to suddenly letting off and playing the Prevent crap. If we'd have stayed in that power formation and slammed the ball up the middle with the ridiculous squad of RBs we had, we'd have won in Baton Rouge and many other places this year. Dooley was NOT a good X's and O's guy. Tech HAS the talent to win more than 4 damn games.

shitty season, at tech, and you're playing a top-ranked opponent, and you play conservative?

similar with LSU, but we just turned it on a little more. it's not like it was a shootout against LSU

its also funny to see the LSU fans complementing him for hanging with us this year. Considering we were coming off a deflating defeat to Bama and started Jarrett Lee, who probably played one of the most terrible games I've ever witnessed.

I mean LSU should always blow them out, but I think pretty much everyone saw us sleep walking through the game.

Tech and LSU both this year underachieved with their talent. Both teams had very poor offensive scheming that did NOT utilize the talent they had. I said all season that they both looked like the same team with different colored jerseys, or at least the same idiots running the show. Dooley did a good job of getting the wheels in motion for improving the program in general, but he didn't win games.

let us not forget that la tech was transfer u under dooley, which didn't turn out great on the field and supposedly fricked up their locker room.

What the f*** is this? Who are you talking about? The only transfers Dooley has gotten are Tim Molten, Lennon Creer, and Ahmad Paige. All of these guys will be eligible to play next year.

Actually, we did play Cruz Williams from Arkansas this season under Dooley, but he was quite underwhelming.

Cruz didn't transfer... he signed with Arkansas, got a release, and then signed with Tech out of high school. He was a redshirt Freshman this season and still has 3 years to play.

That's right, I forgot. Oh and we had Taylor Bennet, but WOW did he suck! We all remember Dooley losing it at Hawaii and throwing the Gatorade after Bennet threw that pick. I'd like to forget we ever let that kid hold the pigskin. There's another example of Dooley "greatness"...

I think La Tech is in a really tough position-

La Tech, ULM, and Grambling are all right there in roughly 45 mile radius. the best talent will generally go to LSU or another top SEC school. The next level of talent in Norhteast Louisiana ends up at Ole Miss and MSU. So I personally think it is a pretty hard place to win. They are bigger than ULM and Grambling in my mind so that helps.

but to the orginal post didn't Crowton win there?
maybe it isnt rocket science?

Yes I did. Is that what SFP is talking about? Bennett played about 5 games and was never heard from again.

Tech's recruits are on par with these teams.

Yeah we take recruits that have offers from MSU all the time, and we've got some Big 12 guys this season too. (unless they bolt because of a bad coaching hire)

You'd be mistaken to lump us in with the likes of UL-X.

Like Coach Dooley said coaching at Tech requires being a good evaluator of talent. He said even his wife can pick out SEC caliber players.

I have a feeling Ole Miss comes and get people from the area, but the QB/TE guy from Neville is all I can think off really. Also, I dont have a feeling that they have a lock on the area.

Regardless, I am halfway talking out my arse.

I would guess Ole Miss has better recruits on a whole, but in fairiness La Tech recruits Northeast Lousisana better
