probably needs to figure out how to consistently put forth an elite product first—sorry but he was extremely close to losing in a home regional last year to UALR…I can at least fall back on all my earlier posts in which I said “very good, not elite” in terms of coaching.

Fire away from all the folks who only see results, but not being able to draw it back to more lucky than good

Probably needs the financial backing. Women’s basketball can get fricked.

ETA: Men’s basketball also

It was a completely unforced error to threaten a jump to the major leagues midseason. Complete brain dead nonsense that completely torpedoed whatever chance this team had.

answering a question about leaving for the MLB by saying "there are no job openings and I am happy at LSU" while angrily in the midst of a losing streak and getting underfunded = "running his mouth"

Got it.

Yeah it would have been if any of that happened.

I think Jay is an elite coach. LSU will be back.

That said, if he lost in the regionals to LR last year (which was really close to happening) and this year happened as it has, there would be some real noise about moving on.

He needs to come back with a vengeance next year.

trailed in only 5 of the 27 innings we played against UALR.

that’s not “extremely” close.

went 10-1 in the postseason last year.

What if UNC didn't come back against LIU and had to come out of the losers bracket and got eliminated by LSU and LSU went to Omaha?

What if the Friday night game against OM in 2022 didn't rain out and LSU won that game and hosted a regional that season and made it to Omaha?

You can't play these games. LSU is closer to the going to Omaha 2 more times in the last 4 years than they are to having zero championships.

Good for him. Completely tanked a season with some great players to scrounge up a few extra hundred thousand dollars for future teams instead of grinding like all the other coaches and getting legit NIL opportunities for his players.

I love this shite. One bad season and it wipes out all of his other great seasons. Where do you people even come from?

One bad season

He's had more underachieving seasons than successful seasons. 3/5 haven't been up to the LSU standard.
