Grasping for something positive right now. Serna's hitting has been impressive, especially for a true freshman. Will be a star and foundational piece for the future.

If he could catch the ball he’d be perfect

Obviously plenty of room for improvement there. But catching a staff that's leading the country in wild pitches isn't helping matters.

He is a good hitter and a bad catcher.

Move him to first base or DH.

You build the 2027 lineup around him

Its really incredible for a freshmen to be handling that position and be hitting so well. Gonna be one of the next greats. Hope we can keep him and bide

He’d make a good 1st baseman. Bring in another catcher to help Arambide snd process the rest of them

There’s lots of silver lining for next year.

Moore, Schmidt, and Evans coming back, Serna and Arrambide bringing power, looks like Braun, Ruckert, and Patrick are going to be able to hold their own against SEC pitching. Some of the freshman pitchers are on track for greatness. Plenty of room for development, but I love to see the young guys getting some run at the highest level and producing.

I know most everyone’s catastrophizing or just ignoring the board right now, but I think we’ll have a good to great team next year. I’m confident CJJ will come out swinging and the young guys will be hungry.

Obviously
But if people can’t see how he has improved since the start of the season they don’t want to see it

The experience he’s getting now will be huge over the next couple of years

The freshmen/sophomore class really has been the best nucleus the last two weekends.

This core is not a bad starting point for next year. Scrap everyone else besides Yamin if he wants back.

Braun
Ruckert
Patrick
Serna
Arrambide
Curiel (if they could get him back but wouldn’t count on it)

If I'm Yamin, there's no chance I'm coming back. He's been ignored by the coaching staff most of the season.

Then, getting pinch hit for by a true freshman after hitting a HR earlier in the game is unforgivable.

He has improved, but, to me, he is not as good as Arrambide was behind the plate as a freshman. The fielding stats back that up, as well, though both need to improve. Arrambide seemed to take a step back this season, but that may have been at least partly because of the pitchers' control or lack thereof this year.

In terms of people stealing vs them, Arrambide is head and shoulders above Serna, though Serna does have a great arm. I believe both could be special players with some work in the offseason. Both have the tools IMO. It's obvious at the plate, less so behind it, but I think it's there, too.

I was told he or Arrambide won't both be at LSU next season in the game thread last night. I am sorry, but I don't agree. You find a way to keep both.

I like the way these guys are playing and that they will keep getting starting reps. It will be a good base going into next year.

poster are dumb. Both will start every game next season taking turns catching and being a DH.
