As they say the devil is in the details. Why would the Raiders make this trade? Why have they given up on Wilson. I know the Raiders are a terrible organization but the question must be asked.

Terrible organization swings both ways. Maybe they couldn’t develop him

This happens a lot in regime changes. They get rid of players and bring in their guys. Also players some times don’t fit with scheme changes

He’s still really young, hopefully Staley and the staff can tap into his potential.

Because he is on the last year of his rookie deal. If they keep him and he doesn't pan out then they got really nothing out of the pick. If they keep him and he does pan out then they have to decide whether to pay him or not based on 1 year.

For us, the pick investment is far lower, but we do face a tough decision if he winds up getting double digit sacks, but otherwise he is good depth for a year as a 3rd edge, which is something we needed this year.

Not sure where that puts Jordan now. I guess it depends on how you feels about this guy as your 3rd and Rumph as your 4th whether you need a bit more juice at edge still or not.

I always find it humorous when they write "per me" in the tweet

Every Raider fan comment on Tyree Wilson youtube videos discussing (pre-draft) whether or not the Raiders should trade him, they all mention he played with great power at DT and that should be his position if he stays in LV, not edge where he only flashed explosion. Many were hoping for a 5th round pick if they did trade him.

260ish pounds at DT is nuts. You only play him inside on obvious pass rush situations.

He is the same size as Young and Granderson, and he definitely projects to edge in our 3-4.

I agree, if he has flashed explosiveness…..you trim him down to get the best out of his athleticism and play him as a rotational piiece on the edge.

What did we trade?

We gave up pick #150 in the 5th round

We got back Tyree Wilson and LVs pick #219. It's the 3rd pick in round 7 btw.

Reading up on him on the Raiders pages. Basically say he is a bull rusher that lacks any other moves. Said he flashed potential his last two games, but didn’t do much during his time there.

Seems like a Chase Young clone.
