Quit. Playing. Games. Start. Dropping. Bombs. Reports that Irans top negotiator quit

They DO NOT want to negotiate in good faith. They are just trying to drag this out and run out the clock.
Apply MAXIMUM pressure. Blockade. Bomb for a few more weeks and then see if they are interested in talking. If not rinse and repeat.

Leave the blockade up. Next one who talks loses.

Bomb them until the Persians take it back.

Why would they want to? We started it

In all seriousness, to what end?
Trump is Trump, I don't know what he'll do. But it seems pretty obvious he's somewhat negotiating with himself here and he doesn't want to bomb them into oblivion. He's looking for a win - whether an actual one or not - and the type of campaign that could give you another school blown up on the news is going to very much undercut that.

Trumps latest post implies he is in no hurry to bomb or end the war. He's waiting to see how soon Iranian economy and society craters without anymore risk of American lives.
See last page or two of the pinned war thread.

Start targeting the IRGC, especially leadership.

Because they can either negotiate or get ended entirely. Even if you think we started it we are giving them the best way for them to end it.

i thought the entire point of this war or whatever you want to call it was to protect the iranian people from their oppressive regime who murderers them in the street for protesting? now we want to kill them all?

So Trump made the negotiator quit and TDS claims another.

I suspect we will have drones hunting iRGC folks soon.

I don’t know what DJT will ultimately do either but it would seem a good general guideline that he or any other president should always follow would be:
Don’t go down that road in the first place unless you are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve total victory. Not partial victory. Not achieving something only to an extent it will have to be dealt with again later by some other generation.
America has gotten itself into some unnecessary messes in our history because we ultimately try to navigate our way through hostilities in a “politically acceptable” way.
Again, I don’t know what DJT will ultimately do in this particular situation with Iran.

So their top negotiator quit and yall still questioning the strategy?
Posted on 4/23/26 at 2:26 pm to sidewalkside
We aren't going back to war with Iran. It's over. This phase will last indefinitely, for the rest of Trump's time in power.

Agreed. I was talking to a Marine buddy with several combat tours last weekend, and he was really conflicted re: Iran. Essentially - "this is probably the most justifiable war and the one for regional stability we should have fully committed to all along" - paraphrasing. But now, given recent history, the reluctance to pour more $ and blood into the region, etc. - we're trying to achieve an even grander result with both hands tied behind our back.
That rings true to me. Taking out the Iranian regime roots and all would be, candidly, a straightforward case to make if the slate were blank. But it isn't.

I commend DJT for showing some restraint and not commencing bombing yet. But, how long can we play blockade chicken? I've seen a few people make the case that the energy and fertilizer slowdown already baked in is borderline catastrophic. A blockade through the summer could blow the global economy to pieces, and that doesn't even take into account the strain on our forces.

When did we start this ?
