If Democrats are at an all time low, a majority of the country is against Woke Progressive bullshite, etc., etc. Why are the Democrats going to win the House and the Senate?

Elections haven’t changed and they will steal it. Trumps biggest failure is not securing our elections and allowing Thune to wait out his term.

Did Trump veto a bill or something?

Republicans haven't given people a reason to vote for them. Running on "the other side is worse" doesn't work when you're in power. The average voter has a very short memory.

--The president generally tends to lose the house in midterms (if he had it)
--We're in another seems-to-be forever war in Iran with no clear plan to get out, and no convincing explanation for why we got in.
--Despite having the House and the Senate, and everyone being well aware the Dems stuff ballots in every blue state and blue city, the GOP failed to pass desperately needed election reform.
--the stock market is good but the job market is bad. Most voters, and especially the sort of people who turned the election for Trump, depend more on the job market than the stock market
--Many Trump voters are Trump voters, not Republicans, and are unlikely to turn out for a midterm.

the main thing they have going for them is that the dems are very unlikeable and generally pretty incompetent. But it probably won't be enough.

Maybe we do and maybe we don't.

But I don't think it's trending the way I prefer and much of that is self inflicted. Blame lies at the feet of congress and Trump. Still 6+ months to go to get this shite straightened out so I won't worry too much just yet.

Because libertarians are gonna waste their votes and too many independents are too emotional to use common sense.

This is true.

They have good shot, because

A) Historically a party that holds the oval office and both houses loses one or both in the mid terms.
B) Republicans historically have weak turn out in the mid terms.
C) A lot more people are pissed off about Trumps war with Iran than most MAGAs want to admit.
D) And most importantly, once again Republicans have squandered 2 years of controlling both Congress and the Oval Office with little to show for it.

Now this by no means that they are going to vote Democrat but it will contribute heavily to reason B.

the Virginia redistricting vote should have taught you something last night.

10% of all votes were mail in votes and 73% of those voted yes (almost 300k mail in votes).

Because republicans cant agree on a dinner menu much less any meaningful legislation to protect our values.

Because they will get "voters", the independents will increasingly stay home and the GOP numbers will continue to shrink.

Trump has not focused on America first..... The cost of stuff has skyrocketed and their is fear about the direction of the country.... It really comes down to the economy....

Because Trump has not delivered on many of his campaign promises. The Republicans are being squeezed out. The illegals issue hasn’t been addressed so those votes will go to the Dems. More and more states are foolishly giving their rights away …

It is a terrible pattern. Most of it won’t be realized until a couple years from now. Dems only had a few seats to make up the gap …

Democrats will vote in significantly higher numbers because they are motivated. They hate Trump and will show up in force.

A large part of Trump's following is about Trump and it's been proven over and over that they do not show up when he's not on the ballot.

Couple that with the portion of Trump voters that are disillusioned because of what they feel is a Trump betrayal on a few key issues and you have a recipe for disaster with the tighht margins we see even in high turnout elections.

Things can change but the headwinds are really strong for Republicans.
