South Louisiana Softball player gets away with cheapshot

I'm in full agreement.
That is a cheap shot. Zero integrity. Zero play was there to be made at 3rd. Zero intention of doing anything other than waiting on the player to step out the box after a routine pitch. I would be fighting someone. frick Pine Prairie.

That was egregious and the catcher should’ve been benched for that.

How does the umpire make that call? The batter is 3 feet out the box. The catcher has a a clear lane to throw to third. On the second view it is clear she intentionally throws it directly at the batter.
Definitely a cheap shot for sure. We would have one in that catchers back the next time she came up to bat no doubt about it.

She should never play again in high school ball. Ever
If you want to do that bush league play go and just make fake body contact. But what she did was egregious

The field umpire has to make that call. The home plate umpire could have been “shielded” but the field umpire saw exactly what happened.

Yeah...I'm calling a unsportsmanlike on the catcher and tossing her for that. There is clear intent and this goes beyond the bounds of the game. Coach will come out, will let them vent for a second and then say what I saw, once I'm done if their tone is a pitch higher than mine and they continue to argue they can go as well. A coach/parent worth a damn isn't seeing this and promoting it. That was taught at some point as 'if they get in the way go through them' an advantage was found and no one around her told her the bounds, they were too worried about the advantage gained. F that.

By rule yes but there should be integrity in the rule with delay of catcher and integrity of an actual play trying to be made.
