In the realm of Sandwiches: Sure, there's better ones out there, but they always require more ingredients and time.

You can't beat the sheer simplicity of a BLT.

Agree! Sonny’s pizza in St Francisville makes a hell of a good one too.

It hits especially hard if you home grow the tomato. One of my favorite summer lunches

They're awesome. Do you have a favorite brand or cut of bacon that you prefer?

We love BLT's at my house. I put a fried egg on mine. Out of this world.

Garden grown tomatoes on a BLT is phenomenal.

Definitely need mayo and a nice sourdough.

Adding a hand pounded chicken breast and avocado makes it a fuller meal.

Don't get me wrong, love a good BLT, but give me a club over a BLT every day.

Two things that money can't buy...true love and homegrown tomatoes.

I have a couple of better boys in my garden that will be ripe for picking in a few days. I'm not too proud to admit that I often double up on tomato sandwiches.

I like to slap a fried egg on it. Next level.

When made well, it's the best sandwich there is.

Lettuce must be crisp
Tomato must be evenly sliced, quarter inch or so
Tomato must be thick cut and crisp.
Mayo must be Hellmans, and laid on thick (homemade mayo acceptable substitute)

While a BLT is probably my favorite sandwich, you can’t beat a fresh garden tomato with a little salt, pepper and light mayo on bread. Was probably eating these before I was introduced to McDonald’s as a kid.

ETA: blue plate is the only acceptable mayo.

Agreed. That’s the only time I eat them, is when I have the tomatoes fresh out of the garden.

Toasted yolk is not the place to get a BLT, that I can tell you.
