I’d love for him to still be on the team, but are you sitting Brown, Curiel, or Stanfield?

He left because we had good outfielders.

Obviously we’d love to have him now that brown went down.

I don’t get why people keep bringing him up, he wouldn’t have played for us this year. He was never going to start over brown, curiel, stanfield in the outfield. You can argue stanfield but Jay loves him and started him over Larson last year

You are correct, but he's been playing 1B over there as well.

He is not an every day player, he started in the OF and kept getting benched late in game because he couldnt field his position. Since then he's been in/out of the lineup as a 1B/DH

We're not really missing him.

What Jay told him was exactly right, hes not really an OF but wanted a crack to be an OF. He got the shot at Texas and got replaced. He could have stayed here and tried working at 1B/DH which was wide open going into this season but he wanted to play OF, alas he is still no longer an OF and we are taking stabs at 1B

He would have been DH against righties for sure. First OF off the bench. Replaced Jake full time after this injury.

A solid .300 hitter on a loaded SEC team was definitely going to be playing for this team this year. If I recall, he was hitting over .350 a few weeks ago. I wouldn't trade places with any program in the country, but, hindsight and all, I wish like hell we had done whatever it was necessary to keep him.

Larson got benched a bit in SEC play, again he started playing OF at texas and got replaced there. He sees time as a 1B/DH but not on a regular basis.

He only has 27 AB in SEC play so far compared to more than double for the other Texas starters in SEC play. He doesnt have an XBH in SEC play either. Does a great job getting on base but not enough to be an everyday player there with zero power.

Larson is a solid hitter but with no power and not even being an every day player we really arent missing him much.

He has 91 plate appearances all year. He's basically become a platoon DH for them. He has zero XBHs and 1 RBI in SEC play

nobody. I mean nobody, wanted him to leave...that being said we should have put more resources in to him than fatty and some of the others.

Stanfield didnt start the first month of season due to injury. Brown out rest of season due to injury. 1st base a dumpster fire as well as second and most of season 3rd base too. But yea he wouldnt have played for us this year.

He was never going to play the outfield with an entire outfield off a national championship team returning. First base was the logical choice. Did he want to play first base or did Jay want to go another route? Who knows

No one could have predicted Brown and Stanfield injuries, and as mentioned earlier he wanted to play outfield not first. Larson was leaving no matter what, CJJ could not tell him he would start because the outfield was set. Now next season is a different story.
