Obamacare portal launch was rocky too.

Did I hear on the news right that it’s being paid back with interest?

No argument there
I find it funny that the govt took the money, consumers paid higher prices, now the tax payers are on the hook for paying back the money plus interest and we still go stuck with the higher prices.

Yes, and we're part of the swamp since we elected them.

Great take. Let's just keep outsourcing our industry and manufacturing to 3rd world shiteholes and enemies of America.
Same old same old.
We did not start out with the ratification of the Constitution in 1788 being a perfect nation without growing pains.
Instant gratification is an unreal expectation from these changes that need to be made, lest we end up like Venezuela or Zimbabwe with 100 trillion-dollar banknotes.
Keep kicking the can down the road. Carry on.

That’s a lot of words to say you’re ok with incompetence that puts the American tax payer on the hook. That’s a cool take I guess but also exactly how you end up

I don't know what you're on about. I hold the Supreme Court responsible for shitty decisions all the time.

They should give it to taxpayers since we were told it’s all passed onto the consumers anyway.

No-one (or few people) are saying the tariffs are bad, but only that there is a right way and a wrong way to enact tariffs
Quote -
On February 20, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump that President Trump's sweeping tariffs, based on the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), were unlawful. The Court held that IEEPA does not authorize the President to impose tariffs, ruling that only Congress has the power to set such taxes.
The problem with the White House is when they want to do something they just up and do it rather than going through the right process. Not everything can be done by Trump just signing a paper and calling it an executive order - go do it.

Which specific SCOTUS Justice are you blaming?

One fricking judge waved a wand to make this happen and you are bitching at Trump.

Is this the latest liberal jerk off thread?
Posters excited that the Supreme Court is refunding monies collected from tariffs, just so ALL Americans will now be taxed to fill the gaps
WooHoo, where do I sign up?

The so called payment back will be interesting as companies have to show their losses and not passed on forward to customers. If customers were charged higher prices due to tariffs then those compare not able to collect
Posted on 4/21/26 at 7:18 am to southofyou
So how will the end customer get their money from these businesses?
That should be a requirement for getting it back.

The American taxpayer was on the hook and getting f***ed 6 ways from Sunday long before Trump implemented tarrifs. Instead of worrying about a tariff refund who’s going to pay me back my lost income in 2020 when the shot pushers shut everything down and I couldn’t go to work for over a month? And no I wasn’t about to take that bullshite government loan “you didn’t have to payback but we’ll audit the hell out of you in the future”.
