So Kailin Chio’s tiny step on dismount…

Am I correct that a step on landing is a 0.1 deduction… so she got a 9.900; does that mean she was another perfect 10 all the way to the deduction for not sticking the landing? All the judges had her PERFECT all the way until the dismount….
She had one 10 already, another perfect 10 for the title would’ve been legendary…. *sigh*.

I didn’t think they would give her the 9.98 to tie OU but I about spit out my drink seeing a 9.90

I hope you girls, I mean guys, recover from this by the end of 2026

It was probably a 0.05 deduction, they likely took off another .05 somewhere else.

The judges did us no justice taking forever to score our 1st beam score. Every other team was on thier 3rd gymnast. They made Lexi stand on the mat for 10 minutes, mentally in her head, staring at the beam.

Yea I said the same thing. I knew she didn’t get the 9.98, but I was fully expecting a 9.5 or so. I was shocked she had a 9.90.

They 100,000,000% iced that poor girl.

LSU had two hops on the dismount of beam that cost them the title. Anything else is whining.
The one issue I have is why did it take 7 minutes before the first routine to the next to get the score in. Girl stood there forever then fell soon as she stepped on the beam. But LSU lost it on two 4 inch hops when it counted the most. Plain and simple

Perhaps they dont lose it if their second gymnast isnt mentally screwed with and her subsequent performance affecting everybody else. They got screwed by that and the fact that OU got overscored on floor. That last one was not a 9.95.

It was a set up. They held the girl that fell to unnerve her. It worked.
The last floor girl from OU did not throw down a 9.95. Chio deserved a 9.95.
I hate gymnastics because of this crap.

These are LSU athletes - and damn good ones.
How about giving them the respect they deserve.

Fix was in with the low Floor Scores at the start.

They are extremely athletic performers. Anything that depends on subjective scores from judges is a performance…not a sport.
Athletes? For sure. Extremely talented athletes.
But it’s not a sport.

These judges made sure Oklahoma was gonna win.
I know LSU was close but go back and look at what Oklahoma got on some not so perfect routines.

Exactly. OU 5 of 6 routines on floor were scored in the top 9 scores of all the 24 competitors.

That’s why I said everyone was playing for 2nd place
OU coach has figured out exactly what the judges want and does the bare minimum

More of a sport and demonstrates way better athleticism than women’s basketball.

Hind sight is always 20/20.
When LSU was, in my opinion, underscored on the floor during the first rotation and OU was inflated or failed to recieve deductions for multiple misses on the vault the die was cast. LSU went to the vault, the same 1/2 steps received much larger deductions than OU. In those two rotations, I believe you're talking at least a .2 swing in total score which would obviously have been the difference. Yes, they took the lead after the 3rd rotation but only by .07. Maybe, those last two roations go differently if there is more pressure on OU.

It did not come down to that. They were #1 in the country on floor and did not live up to that today. They did great just to get it back to where they had a chance
