Who should I believe?
There are a few of us who have been saying this for months now while most of you guys just blamed Yorke for everything. Jay made a lot of mistakes. He’s human. It will be worse next year. There’s a lot of competition going after talent in LA, what does Jay do to reverse this trend? When will it happen?

The end will be in the SEC tourney. Maybe then he will have time to get some talent to BR because the little talent they have is gone after this year.

All he’s saying is Larson should be playing 1B and Mikey Ryan should be playing 2B on this team.
He feels like players he developed are producing for other teams and players someone else developed aren’t producing for him.

Which was silly because of the talent that was on the the 23 team.
As for this team, it’s hard to completely blame Jay for this years transfers not panning out. Simpson and Yorke both put up video game numbers on smaller teams. I didn’t expect .350 with 25 home runs for either but I didn’t think they would be complete liabilities either.
Dardar and Caraway have been almost exactly what I expected, for better and worse.

I have no inside information, but it sounded to me like he feels certain of the players just have not bought in, and that he feels guys who start in and stick with the program are more likely to buy in and listen to coaching than are portal mercenaries.

Why will it be worse next year? There’s talent everywhere. It’s about evaluating the talent and what fits.

This team has more Louisiana guys than last years team. There is no trend of concern in that regard

What I took from it as well. Don’t know how conversations went with those guys behind closed doors, but sounds like Jay is regretful on that end. I would toss in Costello as well. Shame the season has gone the way it has. We will learn from it and move on.

Bear and Frey.
He was talking specifically about offensive production and trying to replicate that through the portal.

If anyone has ever hired people, it should be no surprise that he missed. It’s the toughest part of any management job. At least in my world, when I find a good one, I can typically keep them longer than 3 years! Lol
