Today. She was was going to be18 years old next fall! When my wife told me she was gone it flooded my memory of her killing mice and rats as I bush hogged!
Sad day!

I hate reading these threads but I read damn near every one of them. I got a 16yo aussie mutt and she's still getting after it, but she shows her age pretty frequently. My 3 yo golden doesn't quite understand the 16 yo isn't a spring chicken anymore.

Sorry for your loss.

Really sorry to hear that knees

Dogs are too good for us. We took our sweet girl to the vet y-day to have knee surgery. She's 9 and I'm hoping we have many more years with her.

Just got back from the branch and gathered some large smooth stones to cover her grave. Wife took a look and approved!
Going to miss her!

Sorry my man.

My dog B got hit by a car in 2nd grade.

I skipped school the next day and WROQ fielded at least 10 calls from my brother and me dedicating songs to “B”.

They stopped answering by mid afternoon. I was a wreck.

“Dogs’ lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion.
There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price.”
– Dean Koontz

What kind of dog?
Our 1st family dog lived to 18, she was a rat terrier & loved to be behind the bush hog
She also loved Taco Bell quesadillas

My Dad always said that was the best 35.00 he ever spent

Hate to hear that about your dog, man. It is always such a hard time losing one. The last one I lost almost broke me from getting another one, but im glad I did.

Dogs are too good to us.

She was a Rat Terrier! She was a killing machine! She was free! I emailed the friend who gave her to us and her sister lived to last year.

There are never any good words for the loss of a dog. No matter how long they live no matter how great of a life they live it's never long enough.

Relive and enjoy the happy memories with her. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I have a terrier/chihuahua/whatever mix among my herd she is a varmint killing machine. My biggest issue with her is if I feed her normally she gets fat because she eats all day in the yard.

I hope she lives to 18…that’s a damn good run
