Who is the next to accomplish the Career Grand Slam?

Scottie or Xander. Rahm in a distant 3rd.
I have no faith in Speiths game though he is showing improvement.

I think Scheffler will and he's probably the only one on that list who will. I think Speith's window has closed. If Mickelson wasn't such a dumbass he'd probably have 2-3 more majors.

The difference is McIlroy was finishing top 3 consistently in them. If Spieth finishes top 15 I consider that a damn good weekend for him. And that’s not just the majors either.

He’s far too inaccurate around the course. A hell of a wedge player and still a great putter but off the box, I’d bet that he doesn’t even know where the ball is going most of the time.

If I had to bet, I'd take Scottie but you'd think Spieth would have a good shot since he's got the hardest ones out of the way. You just never know, golf is hard.

Yes and no.

It's arguably "easier" because it has a smaller field compared to the others. Plus, the course is easier than a US Open course, and you don't have to deal with bad conditions as much as an Open course. Also, there is the familiarity given its the only major played at the same course each year.

What makes hard though is probably the prestige of winning is greater than the other 3 (at least within the US). That probably adds some added pressure relative to the PGA Championship which, of the four, is more of the "forgotten" major.

Everyone has a slightly different game. The general reason some guys win some tournaments multiple times and not the others, is because their game fits that course well. So each tournaments difficulty to win really depends on how that players game fits the course.

If your game isn’t a good fit to win the masters it’s going to be hard as hell for you.

He had 6 second place finishes at the US Open, 5 of them he had a legit chance to win and 3 of them he outright blew it. I think the only one he gets a pass on is 2002. He started the final round 5 back to Tiger and got it within 3 strokes. Really, Tiger in his prime isn't going to blow a 5 stroke lead on Sunday.

For all the majors you could argue that he pissed 7 of them away. Some were tough losses, but about 5 of them he really should have won.

As for the OP question. Seems as if Scottie is the only one you would take if you had a gun to your head.

It would be cool if Spieth could pull off a late career PGA win. If you look at his career he was really only elite for about 18 months. Then came the swing changes. Chasing distance kind of wrecked his game. Not sure if he has enough game to really take it to that level. The PGA is kind of the least impressive of the majors because of selling out to substandard courses and not having major conditions in the somewhat distant past, but usually has the overall toughest field. You have to play great golf to win that one.

Morikawa and Xander are young enough to pull it off. Keopka to me is the wild card. You never really know if he is mentally and physically aligned to win.
