To justify or vilify themselves or the opposition.

He gives just enough red meat to all sides to keep everyone slightly annoyed but mostly comfortable in their stances. Where there is no red meat... there is ambiguity.

Why did Iran's president care so much as to comment?

2 people you should never trust:

A preacher telling you how to vote, and

A politician telling you how to pray

I typically don’t and I’ve always been critical of this war.

But I do have a problem when the pope directly misstates the Bible by saying God never is on a side of someone raising weapons…

And I have a problem when he stays quiet as a mouse as Iran slaughters tens of thousands of people in the streets but then comes out strongly anti violence when the US attacks Iran.

It makes him a hypocrite.

They don’t. He’s a pompous a’hole. Literally.

Have a look at his bastardized the Catholic Church is. Tranny churches. Gay churches. Next thing we know they’ll be advocating post birth abortions.

Well given the Catholic church and it’s followers have at least some level of belief that on certain matter the pope is infallible then for the devout he carries substantial influence on how Catholics view the world. What if he said tomorrow abortion was morally ok? That would have substantial change for politics for the foreseeable future

In history the pope influenced kings and kingdoms to go to war, to give money etc

That legacy still exists

I don't. He needs to keep his political nonsense to himself. Stick to things he can actually support Biblically.

“Why does Trump care so much?”

Trump is thin skinned,he doesn’t like to be criticized by anyone. One of his flaws.
I voted for him 3 times and don’t regret it at all.Especially considering the alternatives.
Trump is an imperfect human being but I am convinced he only wants what is best for America and Americans.
Take Iran,he is the only President that has had the balls to deal with Iran For 47 years Iran directly or through it’s proxies has been killing Americans and every President including Reagan has been kicking the can down the road.

I just wish he would consult Melania before he makes posts.

Because for some reason, millions of people allow the heretic to have influence over them, and their liberal stances hurt the country I live in.

It highlights the bankruptcy of the papacy and the need for trust in Christ alone by faith alone for salvation.

Every non-Catholic who thinks we Roman Catholics are bound by every word leaving the Pope’s mouth needs to Google “ex cathedra.”

(Many Catholics also need to look it up.)

So politicians can bring religion into the way they govern and speak on certain issues——

But the Pope of the most prominent religious faith, can not share any political views?

Bound or not... is he not heavily influential?

Also, I assume selecting the Pope is a holy process... do y'all not trust in the selection?

"The process reinforces the theological belief that the Pope is the successor to St. Peter, ensuring continuity in leadership." (per google)

If the pope is St Peter's successor, then he should be trustworthy more than the average bear... right? His words, whether or not ex cathedra or its opposite, should be very influential. If this is true, y'all might have a problem. If it ISN'T true, y'all have an even bigger problem.

A politician represents but a faction of the constituency.

The Pope... is to represent Christ himself on Earth.

Bit of difference, wouldn't you say? Speaking for this party or that vs speaking for God Himself?

They should not, but I assume devout Catholics hang on his every word. He is just a man who leads the Church. He is fallible. He has an opinion, but he should not be weighing in on politics.
