I'd love to research why restaurants are ground zero for poor behavior from certain people. It's like violating the social contract and lying/cheating/stealing excites them.
Obviously in this case, but even going back to people not tipping, walking out on bills, asking for replacement dishes because they didn't like the food, and having multiple people eat off one all you can eat plate.

We typically hand our server cash for that reason and one other. In some restaurants and coffee shops, the electronic tips are combined and equally distributed among all of the servers. So a bad server gets the same tip % as a good one. That happened where my daughter worked a few years ago (CC's Coffee, Baton Rouge).
