How long is the time frame from the denial of appeals to him being removed from the country? Is he in custody or being watched or something? I'd be long gone as soon as I stepped out of court.

Normally the alien would be in custody, not subject to release, and deported relatively quickly. But Khalil filed a habeas petition claiming his free speech rights were violated. He won at NJ District Court. But then lost before the third circuit (for lack of jurisdiction). The district court order barring the gov't from detaining him is still in effect, so he is free as he waits on his appeal.

That’s a different illegal, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national, the “Maryland Dad”. After a “brief stay” in CECOT, federal judge Boasberg ordered him returned to the USA - he continues to “walk free” while he fights deportation …..
