Career wise? Timmy, but Kobe was the better player.

Interesting.
What if they had the exact same numbers but Duncan was in LA and Kobe played in SA.
I'm giving Duncan the edge here only because even with that career he's underrated. He's among the all time greats yet he rarely comes up in these conversations.

They’re both in the 7-12 range all time I’d say. Pretty close.

Career probably Duncan. As a spurs fan, I was at some of the playoff games against the lakers in the 2000’s, and Kobe ripped our hearts out multiple times. He’s the best player I’ve ever seen in person.

Duncan is the best PF of all time.Bryant is not the best SG of all time.

Kobe is my #2 GOAT to MJ but Timmy had a hell of a run with Spurs

The same Duncan that led the USA to a bronze medal before Kobe showed them how it was done?
Duncan was the 3rd/4th best player in his own team during his last several playoff runs. Dude’s way overrated now, he never had to carry a team on his back alone.

Duncan only averaged 19 ppg? That sounds wrong

You could argue either way but slight edge to Duncan IMO.
If you could go back in time and have option to draft one straight out of HS, it may also be Duncan as he lost some prime years to college.

Duncan, Dirk, Hakeem all were better than Kobe
People just are enamored with guards more than bigs

Tell me you didn't watch the 3003 Finals without telling me. Duncan won that championship by himself pretty much.
I love Kobe. As a Spurs fan he owned us multiple times in the playoffs. I'd take him anytime over Lebron. But Duncan is the best player at his position ever and a pretty unarguable top-10 player of all time.

Tim Duncan is possibly the most overlooked player in NBA history.
Rarely is he brought up in all time debates or best career debates. Never are his teams mentioned in talks about Dynasties or multiyear runs.
Duncan's Spurs are just ignored. The Warriors' shorter run and lesser amount of championships is regarded more highly than they are.
It's shameful really.

Fine. I did NOT watch the 3003 Finals. Guess what? You haven't either.

Warriors had the benefit of being good right as social media was taking off. Add in Curry hitting ridiculous shots every night +the 73 win team and and you get a higher regarded run.
Spurs were legitimately championship contenders for 20 years after he was drafted. And while Kobe was the same he did have seasons where the Lakers missed the playoffs ( a couple of those were due to his injuries to be fair).
