I mean that in terms of off the court activity. I won’t argue career or accomplishments with Kobe and Lebron. There is some irony to the James lovers getting heat because of the made up story about his gate getting painted, his political comments, and his obsession with validation, while the Kobe fanboys sort of get glossed over for fawning over a guy with a reputation as being this girl dad…who may have raped someone.

Look at the stats and voting when Duncan won back to back. The game was so different

Exactly. Comparing numbers now to twenty years ago is apples to oranges.

One of the things that makes Duncan and the Spurs trio so remarkable is that they won titles when the game was dominated in the paint and described as “boring”, then they reinvented themselves and won a title 7 years later as a team known for passing and offense.

Top 7 of all time (in no order):

MJ
Lebron
Magic
Wilt
Russell
Bird
Kareem

8-9 I'd have Duncan and Shaq

Not sure after that but I'd probably have Kobe between 10-12.

It's close but I think Duncan was better.

Duncan only averaged 19 ppg? That sounds wrong

That was my biggest takeaway

It was Tim Duncan 100/100 times until Kobe died. No one had Kobe in their top 10 (outside of obvious Laker homers) before he died.

I’m 100000% on board with you. Kobe’s legacy skyrocketed after he died.

Dude’s way overrated now, he never had to carry a team on his back alone.
And Kobe did? Have you heard of Shaquille O’Neal? Kobe wasn’t the best player on his team for his first 3 championships.
