Mark Calcavecchia was removed for using his phone
AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Masters no-phone policy applies to all patrons. That includes major champions, as Mark Calcavecchia found out the hard way on Tuesday.

At one time, you couldn't even bring your phone into any PGA event...

Even Mark needs to be able to record Bryson’s tee shot and yell “get in the hole!” so he can post for his bros on social media.

I think they take your phones or tell you to leave them off the property

They tell you to leave them off property or you can check them in at the front gate.
But, no limitation on an iwatch. Just only check/send texts in the bathroom as they are watching always.

He is now free to return to his hotel room and watch a Card Sharks marathon with Tiger Woods.

I remember going to the PGA event in New Orleans in 2001 and my dad having to turn in his phone.
David Toms won that year. Very awesome to be there!

I was there that year at English Turn, people were putting their phones in various hiding spots around the entrance so they didn't have to turn their phones in... This was before smart phones were around...

When I went in 2017, we had to leave our phones in the car.
I assume it's stil the same?
Maybe they've relaxed the rules since allowing cheese dick Jason Kelce on the property for ESPN.

I went on practice round day and used my press pass to bring in my Canon 6D. I was working in the media at the time. You could bring the big camera only. No phone camera allowed.

I got a talking-to for taking a pic of Ricky Fowler teeing off on 10 at the Zurich a few years ago. I told the fat JPSO deputy I was checking my emails and he bought it.

I mean what happens if your father has a heart attack and someone wants to let you know but you are at the Masters? What an absolutely pretentious club of douchbags.

The same thing you would do before cell phones? If it bothers you so much to be phone free for a day, then don’t go to the masters. If you have an elderly parent with serious medical conditions, don’t go to the masters.
