I think they’re fudging the numbers, I believe it’s lower than that.

I get it for white-collar workers.
On my in-office days, if I didn't make a conscious effort to exercise (almost) every day and if I wasn't totally motivated even on days where I didn't feel like it (where I had a long day at the office), my day would consist of:
- Walking to work
- Sitting at my desk all day, only getting up to make lunch and go to the bathroom
- Walking home
And I have the luxury of getting to walk to work, versus just sitting in a car for a commute.

2.5hrs of moderate exercise per week? Bar is low.
GLP-1s are high for many reasons. Just found another.

I bet it's way lower than 47%. Those numbers probably include people who lie to their doctor and say they're meeting the goals.
Of course, 90% of people will say that there's no way that BMI applies to them

ISWYDT, and they’re nutty enough to do it.

47%?
What are they counting as exercise? Bathroom runs? Trips to the refrigerator?
Walking to the mailbox?

The only surprising thing about this, for anyone who has been at a Wal-Mart, a sporting event or just milled about with average Americans is that this number is as high as 47%.

I'm sure it's way lower. Most people are just fat and lazy. Another large portion are just too busy.
I leave for work at around 6:30. I get home around 6. Oldest 2 kids have sports. Youngest is 2 and needs attention. Cook dinner. Does some chores. I'm lucky to even sit down by 8-9. Maybe watch TV for 30 min and then bed. There just isn't time most days for it.

It is not easy. Hear you.
When in that phase of life, would dedicate 30min in morning before getting ready for work. Would jog during kids’ sports practices (not games). Saturdays mornings were big (depending on your kids’ sports / seasons).
Magic potion was managing career to ensure family time / exercise could be prioritized. Moved into a role that was virtual way before COVID and promised I would trade commute time for throwing ball with kids and exercising.
That blessing begot many more blessings.
Was not easy. Was not always in my control.
But it got better. Good luck!

Well, after working 80 hours a week just to keep my head above water yeah I’m sure and catch up on my 10 mile run. I have to do.

Walked 18,959 steps so far today. Prepping a pad for a new outbuilding today. Did make time for a trip to the gym this AM. I'm 64.

I can’t vouch for the entire country but a casual glance here in western Kentucky would suggest it’s not even CLOSE to 47%
