There is no way that number is even close to accurate. That percentage only may apply to upper class white America and even then seems quite high.

Most people aren’t afraid of cities. They just can’t afford it.

2.5hrs of moderate exercise per week? Bar is low.
They're just going with the American Heart Association guidelines, but it actually goes deeper than that:
quote:
Get at least 150 minutes per week of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes per week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of both, preferably spread throughout the week.
Add moderate- to high-intensity muscle-strengthening activity (such as resistance or weights) on at least 2 days per week.
Spend less time sitting. Even light-intensity activity can offset some of the risks of being sedentary.
Gain even more benefits by being active at least 300 minutes (5 hours) per week.
Increase amount and intensity gradually over time.
AHA Recs for Physical Activity
I'm going to guess far less than 47% are hitting all of that.

Wait till retatrutide is approved by the CDC, more powerful than Ozempic and less side effects, the whole country will be on it, and lots of gyms will shut down

400+ per week here my ninjas.
By age 30, over 95% of people will never sprint again for the rest of their lives. Crazy.

If you walked around Houston, you quickly see that 95% of adults here don’t get enough exercise.

It’s astonishing how many people are content to just balloon and waddle around these days. Understand there are edge cases, but otherwise there’s really not a valid excuse.

i mean walk around in any public space, especially here in Louisiana. Didnt take Sherlock to come to this conclusion. 47% sounds fricking generous.

True!
But have observed far less density (pun intended) of them in Europe and Asia.
American’s “normal” ain’t normal. A1C / diabetes habituation is now in charge.
