Yeah Wade doesn't even answer to the AD, I highly doubt he answers to Dale Brown.

How can anyone with an ounce of deductive reasoning ability think that the political powers that be essentially remade the upper levels of the LSU administration and athletic department (in part) to rehire Wade only to then allow a 90 year old former coach who has not coached at LSU in 30 years "force" Wade to make staff moves against his will (no pun intended)?

No one is forcing Wade to hire Jones.

Jones is 65 and was the HC at a SWAC school. HBCU schools are the lowest funded athletic departments in all of D-1 sports. Jones was making less than $300k as the HC at TSU. Comparatively, LSU was paying David Patrick 2x as much to be an assistant and, primarily, do the fundraising and recruiting McMahon didn't want to do. I'm sure Jones looked at things and said "I can be an assistant at LSU, make more than I'm making now, and not have to deal with all of the headaches that come with being a HC...especially at a HBCU program....while leveraging my long connections with LSU/BR donors to help rais money for my alma matter."

From Wade's perspective, it takes a little of the fundraising aspect off his plate. Plus, Jones does have 20+ years of HC experience. While he didn't reach the highest of highs at LSU, he has taken 3 programs to the NCAA Tournament, multiple times. He's not totally useless as an assistant HC.

The Alabama St. HC recently did the EXACT SAME THING. He left ASU to go to Memphis as an assistant, his alma mater where he played and coached, and also happens to be his hometown

If LSU were hiring Jones as HC it would be one thing. But the overaction to him being hired as an assistant is ridiculous

Even if this was remotely true, what does this have to do with actually playing the game on the court?

I wish stupid rant rhetorics would go away. I would love for them to help us in recruiting and money bc that is what would happen.

Yall somehow made the whole temple thing about race and no longer like him

The bridge between Dale and Wade has been burned then the scraps have been sold as toothpicks. I don't know if they would speak to each other if they were the only two people stuck in an elevator together.

*from what I've heard anyway, I don't have any first hand knowledge.

LOl. I don't think Wade is the kind of guy to let anyone influence his decisions and I don't the think the people they put in place as President and Asst AD would have happened if this was the case. JJ will either fall in line with Wwade or he will be fired.

I agree.

On the other hand Johnny Jones isn't a good coach...

Like I said, it crossed my mind.

Will commented several times about he and Jones formed a good relationship after Wade took the job in 2017.

In fact, Will scheduled TSU this last year at NCST.

Wade and Johnny have always gotten along. It's really not the end of the world having Johnny on staff. He wasn't a good head coach but he will be fine as an assistant

I know Johnny gets a lot of hate on here but he did bring us to a ncaa tournament in 2015

And some of his teams were really fun to watch at times especially with Jarell Martin and Jordan Mickey

Also 2012-2013 coaching job was incredible winning 19 games with a Tuba player as your starter
