and venturing further into space than ever before in Artemis 2, staging up to an eventual trip to another actual planet, and few if any are even aware of it.

Shocking I suppose until you realize it’s yet more TDS, and those covering it hate human achievement almost as much as they do DJT, then it all makes perfect sense.

I suppose this is a real blow to those who want to see this country and it’s greatness destroyed in lieu of some Marxist hell hole to take it’s place and suck the life out of everyone.

What are you blabbing about? I think every major news broadcaster carried it live and looking at social media, international news stations and media outlets have something about it on their pages

I’m 100% glad we restored NASA to its primary purpose instead of monitoring climate change and systemic racism or whatever the hell the neo Marxists had it doing.

I think our priority needs to be ridding ourselves of those Neo Marxists who want to destroy me, steal my wealth and replace our nation with a globalist totalitarian hellscape so that’s kind of where I focus most of my attention politically these days.

Garbage in, Garbage out.

Stop watching CNN, ABC, and other traditional "News" outlets.

In2027, a permanent "Moon Base" is scheduled to be built.

The U.S. moving forward with space exploration was going to happen. It just took much longer to get back to the moon than originally expected.

Mars, is next.

I was a little kid when man first went to the moon, but I can remember quite vividly how much news coverage was devoted to it well prior to, during, and afterward, as well as the subsequent return trips, and this with only three stations and a single newspaper to go on. The difference is quite remarkable, especially considering this is a precursor to a trip to Mars, and we are venturing further in space than man has ever been to.

Well the first time doing something is a lot different than what, the 8th time doing it now? Yes, 50yr gap, but its been done.

And you want to know a major reason why its not like the 60s? SpaceX. Elon has made going to space and doing extraordinary things commonplace.

And we are a long way away from Mars. Elon has admitted as much and shifted X's focus from Mars to the moon.

You'll get a lot more hype around Nasa in 2028 when we actually land on the moon.

It would get a ton more coverage if there wasn’t a huge global oil crisis happening right now.

Only a victim mentality blames the boogeyman.

My household was watching liftoff yesterday.

I commented to my wife that at 51 I haven’t been alive dive our last mission to the moon. I said I’m willing to bet none of the astronauts were either.

I looked it up. The oldest on this flight was born November ‘75. Also happens to be the oldest astronaut to leave low earth orbit….

And to the "TDS" is what's causing the lack of interest statement...

Just went to CNN and Foxnews' websites... One has a dedicated tracker to the mission and one doesn't. Guess which one has it?

It’s never lost it’s luster with me. It’s still an enormous human accomplishment, fraught with much risk and danger, and especially since most have no recollection of experiencing this thrill, yet most were not even aware of it happening. That to me speaks to the political polarization that had taken precedence over anything and everything in life these days.

Yay! We are doing something we did 60 years ago with slide rules and no internet.

Waiting for Katy Perry’s phenomenal insight on this achievement.

I watch our local ABC station for the local news and weather. They’ve been talking about since yesterday, had a countdown till the launch, and would pop in throughout the day yesterday to update on the status it. When it went off the air this morning and GMA came on and the GMA crew talked about it for probably 10 minutes right out of the gate

That’s you, so why are you expecting everyone to be as excited as you?

I was excited and made my kid watch it, but I understand why others may not be. But to say TDS is reason is just comical. Every news outlet covered it and CNN currently has a static mission tracker on their homepage.

It was literally on every A-B-C network during its launch. I watched in while in a restaurant last night and literally everyone was glued to the TVs. You're completely wrong

I went to the beach to see the launch. Couldn't make it to the beach because of traffic. I found a park on the intercoastal and got one of the last parking spaces, even though I was there over an our before the launch. This was 70 miles south of the launch in Sebastian, FL.

People were coming from all over to see the launch.

Not to pick on you, because the Artemis launch was really cool.....gave me chills. But everyone here is so caught up in politics, that something non political like this isn't sexy. I may be wrong but you might be the first poster to bring it up.....anything about Artemis.

I had my elementary age son and daughter watch it with me. Neither knew it was happening and both were fascinated by the launch.

That being said, it is concerning that it was not something discussed in their schools, but then again there is something to be said about waiting till the launch was successful before exposing it to a school of elementary kids…

Technology is moving so fast that many people do not understand or appreciate what a monumental of an achievement this is or how impactful this could be to the US and the globe. Just the idea that proving that H3 is readily available on the moon as a harvestable resource should should excite all fusion researchers. The potential long term impact of this and other mineral resources could have significant impacts on material science.

Instead it just another rocket launch (which it isn’t) and nothing special because they aren’t landing on the moon….

I saw someone saying these people were going to DIE because it was RUSHED.

I told them last time we went up there a modern toaster has more technology in it.. I think they'll be just fine.

It's like people just look for any reason to complain about things.
